I want to just use the key to unlock and lock my 2004 Honda Civic, but the alarm goes off as soon as I open the door. I have to use the keyless remote to unarm the car, but want to just use the manual key. Even if I unarm the car, shut the door and lock it with the key, once I unlock the door with the key and open it up, the alarm will go off.

sounds like the drivers side key switch has failed remove the interior door panel and there will be a switch attached to the back of the key lock cylinder or around there it should be two or three wires also check the door jamb wire harness where the door closes for any broken or damaged wires, use a vot meter and see if you get power or ground to the opposite side of the switch when you use the key to lock and unlock the door if nothing changes and there is power or ground! at this switch i would replace it, i don't think there is one but if the car has a passenger side key hole try to unlock the car from that side and see if you get the same problem -jeff

try pulling your negative terminal lose from the battery for a few minutes and allow the system to zero out then try it if tht don't work then visit your local honda dealership

The computer detected a fault. You SHOULD NOT drive it around with that blinking, or you will regret it. Take it to the dealership immediately and have them pull the code.

the central locking control unit is in the drivers door. there's a polythene sheet in the door panel. If that's ripped or petrified then rain may be screwing with the electrics. it may be worth taking off the door panel and wrapping it the controll unit in a shopping bag or summat.....
