Your message is incomplete, but anyway I will give you some advice and check it. If you mean that you had a problem with the Oxygen Sensor and on removing it you damaged the threads, surely you will have a check engine light on even you renewed the sensor because fitting the sensor in a broken threads you will have a leak and the sensor will not measure correctly the emission. what to do? go to an exhaust fitter and ask him to clean the hole and just weld a nut same thread of sensor and fit it correctly. If is that what you meant.

Your car should have a High and low speed connector there. That would cause the problem you described, if the PCM sees the temp at about 195 the low speed fan should kick on, if that fan doesn't provide enough airflow it kicks on to high speed to cool quicker. in your case the low speed is non existent and the computer is simply waiting for the temp to raise to the point where it triggers the high speed relay.

I have a 95 Eclipse and I recently had to change out my TCU........ Transmission Control Unit, This should be located directly beneath the center console. First I would have the transmission services if problem persist then proceed to changing out the TCU you can get off of ebay. As far as i know there should be 3 Computers in our cars. 1 the Electronic Control Unit located behind radio 2 Transmission Control Unit located under center console and 3 Airbag Control Unit located under hood, Hope this helps.

Could be a wiring issue if you already replaced the speed sensor. I believe there are 2 speed sensors on that tranny though, and both are usaully replaced at the same time.

SOURCE: i have a 1999 gs mitsubishi eclipse my check

It appears that there might be a TSB (technical service bulletin) issued on this vehicle by Mitsubishi. Check with your local dealer to verify for certain. One link with brief summary of this on a 1998 model (yours might fall into this class too?) can be seen here and is as follows:

1998 Mitsubishi ECLIPSE 98 - Transmission TCM PCM > POWER TRAIN : AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION : CONTROL MODULE (TCM, PCM) [Part 103100 ]
TSB No: 01 NHTSA ID: 622435 , May 01, 2001 : Replacement:
Summary: subject regarding diagnostic trouble code p1390 pcm relearn.

A fuller discussion on a 1996 with this code can be seen here. Scroll down to the answer.

Perhaps these will provide a bit of information prior to contacting your dealer. I've never worked in a dealership that charged for looking up & providing info on TSB's. Good luck.

If this helps to solve your problem then please take a moment to rate this post. - Thanks.

Transmission rebuilt 5 years ago on a 1997 Eclipse RS. Now, the RPM levels are extremely high even without full acceleration.

The likely cause for your high RPM may be caused by a vacuum leak in the engine. You can open the hood and check your hoses for cracks and leaks. This is a good place to start, but may no be a full solution.

I'm thinking the oxygen sensor is not working properly. Autozone or Advance Auto will do a check at not charge.

My 1999 Eclipse gs engine light came on, DTC P1390.

P1390 - Timing belt skipped one tooth or more.

the engine is an interference engine so if the timing belt skipped, it should be fixed before starting the engine again. otherwise you run the risk of bend/break valves from piston to valve contact
