I have a 1983 944 Porsche. Ran fine. Had a Winter Blizzard and had to move for snow plows. Started up fine. Let it warm up for 20 minutes while shovling walk. Then went to take around block to move to other street, live on corner, and got half way around block and it just died. Dash lights went dark just before it died. Openned up hood, engine compartment full of snow. Figured blew fuse for dash lights. It would turn over good, but wouldn't fire at all. Towed home, and put in driveway, and sat till spring. Replaced all bad fuses I could find. Had put on a new fuel pump the year before. It has an issue of draining the battery if let sit for weeks at a a time. When we checked it over in the spring, the fuel pump was not working so replaced it, drained old gas out, now have fuel to the front, tried a new coil also, still Cranks Over Good, NO Spark. The Crank Angle Sensor harness connectors on the top of the engine seem to be bad. My thinking is, maybe melted snow water got in there, and shorted out the computer. I had a guy swap engines for me. I remember seeing the senors. I don't see how you could change the senors easy. Do they make replacement connectors for the Crank Angle Sensors? I bought a replacement Computer off ebay for $80, but haven't replaced it yet. Thanks Rich.

Gonna have to go to the fuse panel first, this is really bad, I have seen a few 944s require a ton of wiring from a short out on the chassis. If the fuses check out then you are going to need to take a multimeter and try getting continuity from some of the switches and sensors. but it looks like the wire going ot the fuel injection could be fried.
