I think what you might mean is....a MAF or a MAP...Mass air flow sensor, and a Manifold absolute pressure sensor. MAFM may refer to a Mass air flow meter....PHB

Hi ya'all. Please help me from further rip off. Is there a MAF sensor in my 2001 cougar or just a meter. I was charged for a MAF sensor at $240 but I can't find a part on my car that looks like that.

Well, the mass airflow meter and sensor should be the same part.
Its a metal (plastic) tube between the intake and the air filter with a sensor inside. They are available new and rebuilt.

Codes1406 and 1441 coming up what can it be

Four digit codes are brand specific.
Code 1406 is for a problem with the EGR sensor, and code 1441 is for the EVAP system having flow when it should be off.

Need vacuum diagram for ford telstar v6 1983

well if u have a 1983 ford tarus that has made it this long congrats... start by cleaning the mass air flow meter with mass air flow cleaner anything else will damage the electronics inside.. if it has had all the basics checked ie: plugs cap rotor fuel pressure then consider the coolant temp sensor.. if it reads different then actual temp it can cause cars computer to send wrong amount of fuel to air ratio..

My chevy blazer 2000 ha a p0101 code changed the mass air flow sensor still does not want to accelerate

Hi there:
This code is set when the MAF (Mass Air Flow) meter is not sending the PCM the correct information. This can be due to a bad conection of the rubber intake hose between the MAF and the Throttle plate opening, a dirty air filter, a dirty mass air flow or a bad mass air flow.

Most programmer have you tie into the iat sensor in the mass air flow. this can cause the the iat sensor oto short out.

Hope helps.

Rough idle

I strongly suggest checking your Mass air flow sensor (or clean it with NON-CHLORINATED brake cleaner) as well as your 02 sensor. If that doesn't resolve the issue check your coils. A simple ohms test will indicate functionality of the coils.
With vehicle running, disconnect the mass air flow sensor. If nothing changes, clean and test. No change, replace sensor. There are several ways to test an 02 sensor. The easiest is attaching a volt meter and observing while driving. Another simple way is to remove the O2 sensor and see if the vehicle runs and drives any differently. If so, sensor needs to be replaced! These are the most common causes. Good luck!

P0102 code on a 2000 Buick Park Avenue is this the code for a "mass air flow sensor"

yes your right. it is a low circuit input code for a mass air flow sensor. you can try taking the mass air off and cleaning it good. sometimes it will help but normally they are just bad.
