SOURCE: how do you remove shifter being stuck at park for

For the short term and as a temporary measure, the shift lever can be released by depressing shift lock override button which is in a small hole next to the shifter, typically covered with a small piece of plastic.

A permanent fix is needed though. The transmission shifter has a safety interlock. You must depress the brake to release the interlock in-order to shift into a drive or reverse gear. This system is powered by electricity. The fuse may be blown. Check the fuses for faults. The brake pedal / brake light circuit must be functioning in order to put the car in gear. Check the blue 10amp brake light fuse. Make sure the wiring in the trunk does not have breaks that may cause the fuse to blow

SOURCE: Battery dead, hood won't open. Can not put it in

You should have a little slot, right next to your shifter it maybe covered up, but you can just pop it off with a flat head screwdriver...It should be somewhere by the (P) for park..Once you get that off, you should be able to stick a key or a skinny object in there, and push down on the button..which is a shift lock release button...Once you push that down, you can remove the shifter out of park....Now as far as your hood not opening...what happen did you break the cable? But you can go under the hood, from beneath the car, and pop the latch..It's a little difficult, but it's doauble....Goodluck...

SOURCE: 1996 Toyota Camry. Bought new

I will assume you have a factory Anti-Theft system. Here is the rest procedure unlock the system which was triggered by the battery change and resultant loss of power. Do the reset exactly as written.

Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking position. Then within
5 seconds, locate, press and hold in the
valet/overide button, found under the
dash area, (push button, spring loaded)
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes on solid,
and the siren chirps once.

(Your valet switch might be the toggle
(on/off) type. in this case, key on,
flip switch in opposite direction,
then turn the key off.)

This should reset the alarm, and reset
the grounded relay on the starter wire,
allowing you to start the engine.

Holden astra 2004-2005 need to get it into neutral.

all cars made with A/T box, M/T is child play
the manual for your car now lost from glove box.
it has a tow page
and on said page of all cars made is the super secret park lockout
bypass button near the shifter,
it even works dead car main battery, ,cool or what ?
no such cars here USA or would read it to you.
google for the book, in AUSTRALIA<> is it?

park lockout blocks shifting out of park foot off brake pedal.
so some folks dont drive over the kids
but takes good battery and key on, and brake lamps working
if not the secret bypass is in the users guide.
on some cars a slot is at shift console to put key there and unlock it
others have small plastic window there that slides or pops open
and a lever to push. all tow trucks here know what to do.
even jumper cables 12v power , the battery to get power,
and key on, hit brakes and shift to neutral.
there did i get them all.
with zero manuals USA for any Holden on earth

How to disengage Park into neutral to push/tow van

sure you can the operator guide on all cars glove box there.
shows park neutral lock out.
Key on, step on brake key on, shift to neutral. (battery not dead)
do not tow it with steering lock enabled. that be horrible.
all cars have a chapter on towing,
wheels up or down front or rear up or down or flat towed

and with RWD and wheels on ground rear, the towing distance is limited to 200 miles or less. so when the rear transmission bearing runs dry and not burns up, < all you need to know there!
most transmissions made (not my 64 Pontiac rotohydramatic)
has the 200 mile limit, the transmission has no rear tail shaft pump now days, ALL TOW shops know all this stuff.
Same with 4wd and same reasons
my Jeep i can tow it 200miles, called flat towing but must stop and start engine every 200miles to add lube to the rear.(tranny shafts)
flat towing is the hard job and I bet you meant flat towed.
and hope only short distance,

lost the key?
battery dead Not told?
best is leave key turned on , hold foot brake, shift to N and then key off but do not set the steering lock ever. (pause and think now)
for some jobs (ask U-hual) they have a bar the locks the steering to FRONT, hard locked, so cars KEY lock can not engage.. towed.
if battery is dead ,jump it. then go to neutral
some cars vast the same manual
shows how to defeat the P/.N lock with a secret part of the shifter console we push that, and P/N is defeated just for towing.
we have no Iveco 3.5 ton curtain sider , in USA
nor any year told
ask the make for the manual on your car in YOUR country
"Today it is marketed in 110 markets around the world" but not USA

Automatic shift stuck park

flat towed, in park is not possible
the shift console, has an emergency park lockout, release feature
what is broken, unsaid.??????
the lost operators guide covers both towing rules
and shows that emerg. button location. use it and shift the shifter to neutral.
the front wheels are locked in park.
the problem with flat towing any car are many.
steering lock failure. (locks in motion)
transmission oiling , when the engine is not running the
transmission pump is dead, and oil lube is lacking to many critical areas..
page 163 here covers, the magic switch (emg)
http://www.toyota.com/t3Portal/document/om/OM12656U/pdf/4.pdf

page 160 is tow.
no flat towing.
it can be towed on its rear wheels all day long.

the transmission issues, can be very serious.
do no listen to some dweeb saying gee i towed min 500 miles the wrong way, do not. he never rebuilt a transmission in his life and dont understand how it works deep inside.
page 161,
Never tow a vehicle with an automatic
transmission from the rear with the
front wheels on the ground, as this
may cause serious damage to the
transmission.

page 162, emergancy towed with chains (flat)
short distance with a driver in the seat
in neutral. , ACC position at key switch.
obviously if the key switch parts, are bad, this dont work and would be
very dangerous to all person, in car, towing, and me on the road.

My battery is dead and I can't move the car due to the auto gear shift stuck in park. How do I move the car to get a jump on the battery?

if you look on the center council where the shift lever is you will see a small plastic button on the drivers. Remove the button. Insert a small screwdriver into the hole and push down. You will then be able to move the shift lever into nuetral and push the car.

1994 Camry gear shifter is stuck in park. why?

I can't recall if those have an electric solenoid or not but some vehicles do. If it does and the solenoid is bad it wount shift out of park. The solenoid works with a brake pedal switch to make sure you have your foot on the brake before shifting out of park.
Look beside the shifter on its console. There may be a slot you can slip the key into to shift it out of park and into neutral.

I have a 94 toyota camry LE its stuck in drive even when you put it in neutral park or reverse could it be the transmission or torque converter

Sounds like a problem with the cable or shifter. look at the front of the transmission where the cable conects. Have someone move the shifter through its positions and see that the cable is moving the transmission lever properly.
