Sr stands for superior roll technology which is tougher in an accident but rs stands for rally sport which is obviously a more sporty type of car. If it has both then it is an alright car. Personally they are a pain to work on but they are also good on gas.

2002 Volkswagen Golf Mk4. Automatic transmission not engaging 3rd and 4th gear. I did oil and filter change, and yet the problem persists. Any idea on what next to do?

Question edited with a GUESS at the make and model.
Question moved to the guessed make and model category.
All questions need 'year make model'.

You need a good man with a scan tool. Transmission Position Sensor is my guess. It is a known issue.

Golf FSI 2.0 (2005 Model) Automatic golf. The Car stats Jerking when changing gears especially from second to third gear whats the problem?

You may need a tune up . When was the last time you changed plug wires and had a decent tune up that will cause a vehicle to jerk when reaching higher gears the more strain on the engine the more it will jerk!!!

the car has a transmission, is it Automatic.>?
5 speed stick or 3speed automatic.
reverse failure only
5speed, bad shifter parts? lever issues, as a mech to look,"?
4speed a/t can be same.or bad trans,
adjust the linkage (shifter) to factory spec. , as a mech.
did you scan the PCM to see if there are A/T errors (if A/T only)
check fuses, on all, A/t cars.
