SOURCE: Hello, I own a 93

The transmission is controlled by the Transmission Control Unit (TCU).

Throttle position, rpm, and speed are input parameters to the TCU. The TCU has a default set of shift patterns. These shift patterns change over time based on your specific vehicle setup and driving habbits.

The shift patterns are only slightly affected by driving habbits over many driving cycles. But, changing the relationship between the throttle position and the actual speed being reported by the speed sensor can have an immediate effect on shift patterns.

While your speedo may now be correct, the realtionship between rpm and thottle position has not been corrected. That would take a gear change in the differentials.

The TCU can be reset to an inital learn base line. When this is done, the TCU will instantly learn the dynamics of your setup.

Any shop with an advanced ODB scan tool can reset the the TCU. The dealer or a transmission shop would be preferable.

You really should change your differential gears as opposed to resetting the TCU

My 1999 toyota camry is bring up a code 770 shift solenoid e

- Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid
- Faulty shift solenoid 'E' valve
- Shift solenoid 'E' valve harness is open or shorted
- Shift solenoid 'E' valve circuit poor electrical connection

The P0770 code is detected when Lock up does not occur when driving in the lock up range (normal driving at 80 km/h [50 mph]), or lock up remains ON in the lock up OFF range.

1995 toyota transmission solenoid

Some of these solenoids are supplied in pairs, or more than one off the same connector. This is true at least of the no 1 and 2 shift solenoids. This may have some useful info, p102

Transmission no shift in drive or reverse no move when i put in drive or reverse

It's the classic shifting solenoid problem. Check the wires leading into the transmission, be sure all connections in tact and wires are not frayed or otherwise broken, shorted out somewhere. If so, remove the transmission pan and the shifting assembly (BE CAREFUL TO HOLD HORIZONTAL AND DO NOT DROP AS THERE ARE LITTLE BALL BEARINGS WHICH COULD FALL OUT!). Inspect the solenoids, they either work or do not when voltage is put to them... not sure on your vehicle what the voltage is, but it could be found at your local dealers parts department (remember a visit is better than a phone call on this as they are in the business of making money, not giving up free information, yet they will assist.

97 camry has no check engine light on but 3rd gear delays scaner said p0770 comes ons a selenoid what do you advaise to do

p0770 is shift solinoid E malfunction, If flushing the transmission fluid will not help. you have a problem with the shift solenoid itself or the wiring to it. Solenoid E (SL) is the torque converter lock-up solenoid. If the torque converter is a little slow locking up, it will set this code. May only be a one-time thing, allowing to get a small particle of something getting jammed in the solenoid. The code may disappear by itself.
any trans shop should be willing to solve this problem for you WITHOUT a rebuild. good-day!

Yes,cause of the amps not being there it can do a lot of things, but again,it s a chance it has nothing to do with it too.

Reverse suddenly quit 95 toyota camry 4cyl auto

Check your transmission fluid level asap. if the level is good, you will need to inspect the shift solenoids located inside the transmission pan. replace any solenoids that are proven to be faulty. i would also advise to test the pcm/tcm for its operational value as well. this device controls the shifting patterns of the auto trans.

while checking the solenoids, if you notice any metal fragments on the bottom of the pan, this will be a sign of major gear friction. you should re build in this case.

If you were to take the solenoid pack apart you would find a bad connection on that solenoid. You sill need a new pack installed.
