Alarm went off, now the central locking doesn't work

A mechanic came to look at the car, the bonnet was opened. So he opened it and the alarm went off. He didn't have the remote so he just left it. The alarm stopped. The next morning when trying to use the central locking and the remote, it now does not work. The alarm light inside still works, the light on the remote works (so it is not the battery), how do I reset?

Use the car key itself from outside the vehicle with everything closed: use key in drivers door outside door lock and manually lock and unlock the door. check if fixed, may have to do a few times. i do believe the vehicle is in theft mode.

I have done the Battery check, remove all the fuses and place them back, change the anti theft box, change the switch from the front doors, check the relays, check all wires not to be busted, reprogram the alarm with the key... no luck still

Same problem with an '03 Golf--remote entry, power windows, and interior lights stopped working. This was easily fixed by replacing fuse #14, (10 amp), located in the driver's side fuse block.

SOURCE: VW Beetle Alarm goes off for no apparent reason

the sensitivity on the alarm itself is too high, or there is something around the car that is interfering with the frequencies that are sent / received by the alarm itself, like other car alarms, power lines (mine actually did it when i parked under a power line) or the alarm unit itself is malfunctioning.

make sure that nothing is around to the (other cars with alarms) or look up under your dash, above your pedals (might have to take the trim plate off) and / or turn the sensitivity knob (flat-head screw driver, or just a simple protruding knob) down. make sure the battery in the remote is good too. if it stil ldoes it after this, then your remote needs to be reprogrammed.

SOURCE: I have a 95 VW Jetta III that I just purchased.

Insert the key into the door lock on the driver side and move it to the unlock position two times quickly. That should turn off the alarm.

Alarm went off had to disconnect battery to shut off, door open light stays on, interior light stays on door locks and window controls will not work

O.k. this is a security feature of your alarm the car now essentially thinks that it is being stolen. In order to fix this issue you need to reset the alarm buy reconnecting the battery and using your electronic alarm sensor if you have one (if this doesn't work get new battery for alarm sensor)

Alaram keeps going of on my bora after about 10-15 mins

I went through the same thing with my Jetta here recently.

You need to replace your drivers side door locking mechanism. The mechanism has poor solder welds (thanks VW) that break under normal use. Eventually these welds will fail causing your door mechanism to think that it is being opened and closed all the time, does it seem like the car is possessed at times? Do the doors lock and unlock, or refuse to lock? Does the interior light come on while driving? These are a few of the symptoms.

When you lock you car and walk away the alarm is set and the car knows all the doors are closed, but when the door mechanism breaks contact the car thinks the doors been opened and sounds the alarm. I tightened up the two bolts at the end of the door, they are a torx pattern and required a rather large torx driver bits to fit them but they may straighten the problem out for a while if they are loose. It's a cheap temporary fix to the problem. Hope that Helps!!

Terracan remote locking problem,

dear friend-when you use the remote it activates the alarm, and when u use the key it only activate the central locking, please open the bonnet and look for the bonnet switch,if you find the switch look where the bonnet and switch come together there should should be a rubber grommet that will push the switch when closing the bonnet.if it is not there the alarm will not work,do the same with the back door.

It sounds like you have a problem with one of the door or bonnet switches. It acts that way when it thinks there is a door or the bonnet is open. Check all the switches for good contact.

Central locking not being activated by remote

somehow the car when on valet mode, go to a alarm shop , they should be able to re arm your car without to much damage to your pocket, or read your cars manual, it might inform you on how to fix the problem.
