Question about 1999 Volkswagen New Jetta

Wont start after preasure washed

The car was starting and runing befor i preasure washed the motor and now it wont fire over it is getting gas it acts lick there is no spark

    checked the cap and rotor wiped them dry  still wont star. acts like there is no spark?

SOURCE: 1984 volkswagen crank no start getting fuel and spark

You must have the plug leads in the wrong place on the distributor.
Firing order is 1-3-4-2
Remove the distributor cap. There is a tiny mark on the aluminum body where the cap sits on it. Turn the motor clockwise by hand until the rotor lines up with this mark. #1 plug lead should be in the distributor cap hole closest to the rotor in a clockwise direction.
If the motor still does not start rotate all the plug leads 180 Deg.

Hate to do this hard way but assuming you have no test equip. Pull the starter and have the Auto Parts Store check it out on the bench tester for free.

well it needs good spark [distributor cap] .it needs fuel check preasure .and the only other thing is a plugged cataletic converter. < was it loseing power before it stopped working . other wise i think its the distributorcap and rotor.

MY 2005 SILVERADO STOPED RUNING WHILE DRIVIN WONT START NOW. NOTHING IN THE TRUCK IS WORKING
Fried ignition switch will do that. It's in the steering column and controls all power to everything but if it cranks then it's at least mostly working. Check battery and if drained then possibly the alternator went out. The ECM can be shorted out by a bad sensor but usually act up for awhile before dying. Dead ECM you can still crank motor. Crankshaft sensor would kill engine if bad and no start but car would still crank.

I power washed the inside of my 91 s10 and now it wont start. it was acting like it was runing out of gas before it stoped starting but it has plenty of gas?
the distributor may be wet,leave the hood open to air out for a while,or use a hair dryer will help

Geyying fuel and fire but still will not start
how much fuel, remember needs certain amout of preasure, also check injectors and injector pluse, if injectors are not turn on by computer it wont spray gas, try sparying starting fluid in throttle body see if it starts, start there now, good luck.

2003 sliverdo 5.3 engine, wont start, turn over,
check fuel preasure may have bad pump, try pouring i little gas down throtle body, if it fires up then i would say pump is bad, good luck.

Getting gas and fire but not starting
Change the gas. That gas is no good after a year of sitting,probably has water in it. Hopefully it didn't laquer the fuel pump pick-up screen.
