OUCH! Hope you got in by now! you can try a coat hanger from the top of the door to reach the door handle. Some cars unlock when you pull on the inside handle. if you have onstar, they can also unlock it or you (free)

The central locking remote does not lock the car. When you hit the lock button it locks then unlocks straight away.

It matters if you purchased the vehicle in this condition or if this issue happened while you already owned the vehicle and have been driving it. If you purchased it that way, you could be missing a keyless entry controller or immobiliser box especially if it has any form of aftermarket security. If this happened to you after you owned the vehicle for a while it could be the key-fob battery dying, could be the transponder in the vehicle or related wiring or something as simple as a fuse or relay related to the locking and unlocking of the vehicle. Hope this helps!

Smart for two central locking problems

are you sure doors and boot and hood if you have one are really closed properly? The boot can often not close tightly enough. Does the system click when you press the key?

Cant get my 99 xj8 out of valet mode, and my trunk will not open.

There are Valet keys (often with a green knob) that will
only unlock the front doors and the ignition but not the
glove box nor boot/trunk.

When either the front door locks or the console button is
pressed, all the doors should lock. Likewise, when either
front door is unlocked, all the doors fuel filler lid and if
selected, the boot will also unlock.

Boot lock has three positions. Unlocked to the left,
automatic with the doors in the center, always locked to the
right. Simply remove the key in what ever position you desire.

The locks can get confused and not work correctly. Simply
sit in the car and manually lock all the doors. That will
usually get the locking module sane again.
