My friend, recheck the handle hook up, something might not be working or connected properly. Is it electrical or mechanical issue? Please be more specific.

Difficult to guess without seeing it.

Once the interior panel is removed it should be possible to figure out how it should work and from there figure out why it doesn't work and then verify your conclusion by dismantling and examining the components.

SOURCE: Broken rear hatch door handle on Toyota Sequioa

It sounds like the handle has become disconnected from the mechanism. You will have to remove the inner door panel and reattch. It is not a complicated or difficult job but if you get a professional it could cost upwards of $100.

SOURCE: trunk/hatch will not open. handle seems loose.

2000 ford explorer back hatch handle loose door locked The linkage on the back hatch came unfastened and the handle was loose. Ford uses plastic fastener clips over perfectly good threads to hold this together. The outdoor plastic handle is only conected to the car with two aluminum ribets. One was already missing on mine. But if you just want to open the door, you can rip the handle off and pull it out. hopefully you won't crack the plastic. You can see the linkage screw hanging as you look up through the left hole. Grab it with a plyers and apply a steady force down. This will open the hatch. I just rigged up a different handle and put a nut on the treads to hold it together. This can all be done without tearing appart the interier and may only take 20 minutes. I used a rope and handle from the garage opener, a medium size washer and a nut. First make a small loop, with a small hole to slide over the linkage screw, then the washer, then the nut. Slide the other end of rope through the handle, move the handle very close to the vehicle and tie the not close. Trim the rope and wala ... the hatch works. Or you can pay $300.00+ to have it fixed with the clip.

Does the 2019 explorer sport back hatch window open and how do I do that.

Yes, the 2019 Ford Explorer Sport has a power liftgate that includes a rear hatch window that can be opened independently from the liftgate.
To open the rear hatch window, press the button on the key fob twice within three seconds, or press the button located on the liftgate handle twice. Alternatively, you can also use the interior switch located on the overhead console to open or close the rear hatch window.

How come I have to open my rear window and reach in to open my rear hatch door on my 2001 ford explorer sport?

Replace the broken door latch handle and it should work just fine.

Rear hatch door in ford windstar-mechanism came apart

My back hatch would not open but it appears the lock was sticking and the return spring to the handle is broken. We used the key to unlock the back door and then door opened. Then husband sprayed WD 40 in all the lock holes. Now once we open the door we have to push the handle back down as return spring is still missing but the door opens :) . My van is a 2002 Ford Windstar.

Rear hatch on my 2001 explorer will not open, rear window will but tailgate hatch will not. how do i open it with out the unlock button, no manual release that i can see...

I had a clip break when I tried to open my tailgate. I had to remove my inside hatch panel and find my way to the handle assembly. A little plastic clip (shaped like a T) had finally worn out, which wouldn't hold the locking arms, and I had to go to a Ford dealership for a $3 part; tailgate has worked fine since then!

My hatch back handle is not working and i can't open the hatch back

put the back seats down and take off the interior panel on the boot and check the linkages that go from the handle to the latch. one may be broken or bent or it may be a cable that is stretched or broken.

Hi hatchback door on my ford explorer xlt 1997 dosent open because the handle is broken i want to know how to open the back panel from inside and fix the handle thanks

pretty much the only way in is to force the inside panel off and pull or push on the rod that connects to the handle. new handle just bolts in and you may want to try and find a new inside panel for it too because the usually dont come off without breaking

Trunk/hatch will not open. handle seems loose, no action. Wondering if something is broken. How would you repair it. Can't find any other way to open trunk. The glass window part opens.
