2005 honda odyssey ~ cannot remember how to reset the oil change

The oil service light must be reset, refer to the owners manual.

Reset the Oil Maintenance Light on a 2005-2015 Honda Odyssey:

1. Turn the ignition to position "On" without starting the engine.
2. Press the Select/Reset button until it displays the "oil life percentage"
3. Then, press and hold the knob until the oil life percentage begins to blink.
4. Release the knob.

The van sold in the US can be changed from English to French or Spanish. You may need to check with the dealer on a Japanese model.
The info for US vans is on page 108 in the owners manual. With the key on you hold the "info" button for 3 seconds and go into the Customize Entry option.

Oil Life?
After your oil change, hold down the trip reset button(i think it is) near the seat belt sing for about 15 secs. Then let go when Oil Life is flashing. Then press again and hold for about 5 secs.

The light is indicating to change the oil.The oil needs to be replaced.The oil level is low.But in some cases,even after replacing the oil,this oil indicator light comes up or remains ON.In that case. Lets get started. Place the key in the ignition and turn as if to start your minivan - but do not actually start your Odyssey.

2) Locate and click the black odometer button located near the bottom of the instrument panel until "Oil Life" along with a percentage value appears.

3) Release your finger from the button, then press and hold the button for ten (10) seconds.

4) Once again, release your finger from the button, then press and hold the button for five (5) more seconds. Lets count: one Mississippi, two Mississippi, etc. all the way to five.

5) Your Honda Odyssey's display panel should read "Oil Life 100%." You are done!

turn key forward but do not start push gas pedal 3 times to flor rapidly and hold to floor 3 time until it tells you 100% oil life

The tranny fluid on most cars and trucks is 30,000 miles ,as far as the engine oil if you use a good oil brand like Honda motor oil or even like Motorcraft they are a synthectic blend 5w20 and you can go 5,000 miles between oil changes.Now if your useing regular motor oil change it every 3,000 miles.Hope that helps

The 15% is a warning the oil change is near, The "A" means change oil only ("B" would mean change oil and filter) The 1 means to rotate the tires, The 3 means to change the trans fluid. The owner's manual has the complete chart.
