I have a 2006 Isuzu I280 Truck which is the same as the Chevy Colorado. The truck just sputters and when I give it Gas it just barely moves like it is not getting any Gas. I put the Diagnostics problem code reader on it and it said P1516 and P2101. The P2101 said Throttle Actuator Control-circuit range/performance and P1516 said idle speed control-auxiliary inputs-vehicle speed and Manf. control. I changed the Spark Plugs and the Throttle Actuator Controller and it runs better but still sputters when I give it gas and barely moves. Your help would help me greatly, its my sons truck and he starts College on Wednesday!

did you check for vacuum leaks probably a vacuum hose thats been knocked off or eroded and needs to be replaced.

You need four things for an engine to run. 1. fuel 2. spark 3. compression 4. timing (spark at the right time. By your post it seems you have fuel and spark and you probably have compression unless you blew a head gasket. That leaves the timing. Check the timing and/or the timing belt or chain whichever you have.

WELL WHAT ENGINE HAVE YOU GOT I know it must be either a V6 OR V8 and if the right hand bank of either 3 or 4 plugs leads are taken off and it still keeps the same and it dosent make any differance to the revs etc then it got to be a gasket on the inlet manifold on that head so that no petrol vapor is getting as it is sucking air only..
But what i carnt work out is how it run correctly on the Left hand bank only (IT CARNT)
There was a Army truck 1 tonner years ago that was a v8 and they had it to run on 1 bank of 4pistons {as a 4 cylinder engine} and after 150.000 miles they would take the old pistons out and fitted 4 more to the other bank and they kept running 100%.. but you havent got one of them sorry to tell you.. So let me know the answer to all above Ron

Take out the fuel-pump and examine it for short-circuit. If its exterior is rusty, you might try another fuel-pump.
Check for vacum leak around the throttle-body, and the vacum hoses.
Spray some choke cleaner inside the throttle body, and the exterior.
Check and replace the PCV valve if defective.
Remove and clean out the EGR valve. Make sure its connections are tight and not leaking.
Try swapping another control-module.
Make sure your truck has no anti-theft device installed without you being aware.

You will have to hook an OBD I scanner to the ECM to check the codes. Good Luck! I hope you find this to be very helpful! The 1991 does not flash codes.
