My mom's 1997 Oldsmobile Regency won't put out air through the dash vents but it does at the top near the windshield and at the bottom and sometimes it won't even kick on at all until we d

It does around our feet too, and once I remember that the blower wouldn't even kick on until we turned it off and then back on again!

Sounds like a blend door problem. there might be a video online that will show how to repair that.

SOURCE: The Air flows through only the defrost and feet vents

Inside the ventilation system there is gates that open and close to direct the air flow. These are operated on vacuum on most vehicles. The hose for that perticular gate may have disconnected somehow or has a hole in it. I suggest you take the heater controls out and see if there is a plug with a series of colored hoses on it. it so you'll have to trace each of them to see which one is the problem. Now you may be able to get some help from you local dealers mechanic who just may know the color code for that gate. (which would be a bonus) Good Luck

SOURCE: Heating/Cooling air not coming out of dash panel vents...

Vaccuum hose has come unattached at the firewall that regulates the baffles in the ductwork. Look for a leak or unattached hose.

My 97 dodge ram has no air coming from ac/heat vents in dash except for the top vents next to windshield. no air coming out at all of any kind all across front of dash.

Your ac blower doors that direct the air to the vents are vaccum controlled check your vaccum lines going to the ac most of the time it is a leak near the vaccum check valve. The reason it is only top vents is because it is the default setting in the system

A/C doesn't work and only blow air out of the top of the vent. at windshield. Could this be a fuse or relay problem? My mom has lost her owner's manual and I don't know what relay goes to...

the directional for defrost and dash panel may have gone bad, there is no fuse for this. under the dash on the main vent, you will see a little box/with an electrical plug in. it's called an acuator.when you turn the knob to defrost,or dash, the acuator turns the door on the main vent to let the air flow to either the defrost,or dash.your acuator is most likely your problem.there is only one plug in to it and only 2-3 screws that remove it frome the vent panel under the dash.thank you for choosing fixya.com!

98 OLDSMOBILE 98 REGENCY ELITE A/C COMPRESSOR HAS BEEN CHECKED AND FUSES HAVE BEEN CHECKED AND EVERYTHING IS WORKING GOOD BUT NO AIR IS COMMING OUT OF DASH OR VENTS ,ELECETRICAL PROBLEM OR AC POWER MODULE

the heater fan circulates the air for the a/c. so when a/c is on adjust it with the fan controls. if more problems with it, repost. if a/c compressor is not working. check the a/c relay in fuse box.
