SOURCE: The passenger door will not open 1993 Jeep Wrangler

assuming that this jeep has not been wrecked recently, the only way to get that door open is to remove the door panel while the door is closed, at least enough to reach the door latch inside the door, once reached you can operate it and release it to open the door, I will tell you that the likely hood of damage to the door panel will probably occur, I have had this problem before and I had to cut a hole in the panel reach in and open the door, sorry it can't be simpler. if you feel the latch operating and you have recently ran into something, try pull the door handle from inside while pushing the door open

SOURCE: Chime does not work when opening the door after the car is shut off and also when the running lights are left on after the car is shut off. Chime does work however for a brief second when turning on

There is a switch in the latch of your door which is broken. They used to use easily replaceable plunger switches now they have incorporated the switch into the door lock latch mechanism making it more expensive than necessary. I had same problem. You probably also set off your alarm quite frequently as well. If you shut off your car and try to start it after 30 seconds the alarm sounds, it did in my case. Luckily, I had purchased one of those extended warranties as my car was used. I still had to pay $100 but I think the switch is just over $120 this for me covered labor as well.

SOURCE: Removing doors from Jeep Wrangler - Dome Light Stays On

I have a 97, and my fuse for that is behind the glovebox. Open the box, slide the end of the strap to disconnect it, then remove the box. The fuse is marked. Something like "Dome lt. elim." I think it's located one up from the bottom right. This can actually be done without removing the glove box. For a more permanent fix, quadratec.com has a switch that plugs into the fuse location and mounts under the dash, so you can just flip the switch. Hope this helps.

How do you disable the door chime?

many drivers have dash lights to inform them that a door is open yet they still drive around and then complain about a knock some where in the back
I would check all the door sensors for adjustment and leave the alarm alone as , as annoying as it might be , it might let you know when a child has opened a door without your knowledge and save a life.

2005 jeep wrangler when i turn lights on beeping starts

did you RTM read the operators guide yet,
it tells you why all beeps beep and what lamps flash, (warning) and why. did you?
you turn on, the head lights, (what about 1st click , parking lights"?)
and does the dash cluster, show warnings of any kind?

if a door is ajar the system will think, you are exiting veh. with lights on and tell you, buy beeping ,etc.
but on my jeep it says on the dash DOOR, or on EVICs, (not yours)
the newer car even tells what door IS AJAR.
mine on shows , "DOOR"
the operator guide will say, check all doors for ajar, and get warning clear before driving....etc.

if you lost the guide here it is for free

http://justgivemethedamnmanual.com/jeep/jeep-wrangler-owners-manuals/

click the 05 link
ignore beeps, there are just too many .. i look at the cluster and learn to read it..
my newer jeep 08 can produce 1000s of errors,,,,, possible.
in fact the intent it to beep to tell the driver to look at the cluster
for in depth, causes.
see chapter starting on page 136'

once sound it makes is Check gauges chime. so check them.
and headlamps left on
and door ajar.

NOTE: If the driver's door is left open, and the headlights
or parking lights are left on, the "High Beam
Indicator Light" will flash and a chime will sound.
Lights-On Reminder
If the headlights or parking lights are on after the ignition
is turned off, a chime will sound when the driver's door

its a crude system, and evolved to complex in 2007.
"DOOR" or RF-door , on mine.

The warning chime on my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee continues chiming when the door is closed and the key is in the first position from off. I tow this unit behind a motor home and need to leave the key in...

The chime is active because the sensor on one of the doors keeps reporting it as open - this is a defect in the sensor, located inside the actual lock. You cannot disable the chime, it's an integral part of the Body Control Module. To fix that the door will have to be dismantled and the sensor replaced, a job for a repair shop.
Until you reach one you can disconnect the battery and lock the doors manually.

I own a 2007 montana and had it for 1 month now ..It keeps making a ding ding ding chime while driving ..The passengers rear door is automatic and when I press the button it makes the same noise but when...

1. Turn off the overhead over-ride switch. Drive again. Do the chimes stop? If yes, the door is not closing properly due to the door contacts. Clean them yourself or have them serviced.
2. If the chimes did not stop in step 1. above, it's not likely the door but rather something else.
3. Chimes occur for many reasons. Suggest checking - a. are the rear back-up warning sensors blocked/dirty? b. any other lights on the dash like oil, abs, airbag, etc? c. passenger side airbag disabled - something heavy placed in passenger seat?

In my experience, it's the automatic door contacts. We have a long history of problems with these auto doors, that are still not resolved. problems all throughout the warranty period, and now into the extended warranty period. We must unite and get GM to resolve the quality of these doors. My next step (next incident) is going to be to have the dealership inspect the entire wiring system.

Is there any way I can turn off the low fuel warning chime on my 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee? The dealer wants $100 to do this.

This chime is also the same chime used for the doors. To remove this you will also be losing the ignition chime when the keys are in the ignition or when the doors open.
It can be removed simply by unplugging it. Just open the door with the keys in the ignition, look under the dash on the driver or passenger side. using you good hearing locate the chime and simply disconnect the plug from the back.

Dome light

thats because of the little black button in door jams on cars. when your door shuts it pushes the button in, when your door opens the light comes on.

My 1997 Grand Cherokee laredo has a problem with the rear hatch open/closed sensor; the ''brains'' frequently thinks the door is open when it is not. This is annoying when driving, leading to blinking...

the rear hatch issue is due to a faulty latch assembly or needs adjustment. replace that latch issue should be resolved. but u can access the wiring to it by removing the hatch panel and seperate the connector at the latch assembly , this should turn out the light, and also keep the alarm from going off!! hope that was helpful!!
