Why does my 1991 dodge d150 emit bluish smoke when started or when accelerating

There is a temp. sensor on the exhaust manifold that I just switched out on car that done the same thing it would start when cold but once it was hot and you killed the car it would not start back. When this goes bad its throwing the wrong signal to the computer that it is too hot and allowing it not to crank. This sensor was on the left side of the engine if your facing the car from the front. Also It can be tested with a multimeter to see if it is bad.

The fuel filter is not IN the fuel tank. The Fuel PUMP is IN the fuel tank. The Filter is mounted to the underneath of the truck bed NEXT to the Fuel tank. Its alittle smaller than a soda can with two fuel hoses connected to it.

if you hear a loud click from starter it could be the motor contacts in the starter have gone bad. you will have to remove starter and have it repaired or replaced. check again to make sure that the battery is charged up on truck. also check for a loose ground wire to starter or engine block.

You can put about a cup of transmission fluid in to oil to swell up the valve guide seals and slow down the oil being burnt. it will clean the in side of the engine as well.
