Navigation system, radio, front power outlet failure

Our radar dectector was plugged into the front power outlet... we noticed it wasn't working and when we jiggled it the navigation system, radio and front outlets all went out. We've checked all the fuses and none of them are blown... any suggestions?? I have a 2006 MDX and the same thing happened when I plugged my cell phones car charger into the power outlet in the center console. I heard a pop like a fuse had blown, but after further investigation and even replacing a few fuses it still doesn't work.

SOURCE: navigation system, radio, front power outlet failure

The solution is to buy a new mini fuse (Blue #15) at an autonation or similar. Open the passenger side kick plate fuse box and pull out the fuse in position #9 (upper most left fuse). You will need needle nose pliers or tweezers etc... Insert new fuse and you are done. 50 cent repair and 30 seconds spent screwing with it. Enjoy! Oh, and don't worry about blowing it again. Best I can say is when starting the car, unplug the power sucking device like a radar. Once car is on you can re-insert it the radar. The initial jolt of powering everything on all at once is what blew your fuse in the first place. Get a few additional fuses to have on hand just in case.

How do I fix the radio and navigation system in my 2010 Acur zdx? Since I changed the car battery, the radio and navigation system won't come on

You have to have the manual and paperwork for the car. These came with codes for the systems. If you don't have the papers, then you will have to go to a shop(that has the right scanners) or the dealer to have them reset. The systems should have been disabled before the battery was changed to avoid this problem. again, the codes would be needed or lug a charger into the power outlet socket.

System memory may have been erased/lost due to extended loss of power. System may have to be reprogrammed to effectively work. Do you have the programming CD? If so, check owners manual for programming procedures

1996 Cavalier 12 Volt power outlet in car doesn't work right?

Even thought the plug in is 12 volt. It's ouput is different. Most electronics have different ranges from 3-9 volts.
Does the 12 volt charger put out 12 volts? If so, it would burn up the electronics' capacitors on their power supplies.
How is the car's electronics doing? Are they too failing? If so, that would be a faulty voltage regulator, if not, I would hook up anything you use to the radio wires.
You cannot plug in anything directly to battery no matter what the person told you. Batteries charge, than release charge, a contiuous cycle. The power output is speratic and anything hooked straight up to the battery will need a fuse.
