Idle air control valve is bad replace it. at start up choke control runs till warm up while driving throttle opening controls engine at idle ,the idle air control valve.

all i can recromend as it is a big problem probubly to do with one of the small fidly wires although im not sure where it would be as in modern cars they are all over the place!!!! so i would take it to a garage

When is the last time you changed the plugs and or wires. Possibly a bad coil. You can also check the fuel injectors to see if they are spraying correctly. Also check the fuel filter. It should be inline under the car just look for the lines when you crawl underneath. If none of that is the issue let me know

Look for vacuum leaks had a similiar problem in my car. a small split in a hose can cause havoc, and is usually only noticeable at low revs, like changing gears in an auto and sitting at a set of traffic lights.
It can be a long process checking all the hoses but it will give you a good look round the engine.

The gauge could be wrong,it could be defective,have the alternator checked,at the battery,it should read from 13.65 volts to 14.25 volts with the head lights on,and the ac blower on high,with the engine running.If the alternator is new,check for 12 volts at the back of the alternator with engine off,if there is not 12 volts on the large wire,on the alternator,then the circuit is broken somewhere.Just install a new wire,of equal or larger size.Leave the original wire on the alternator,and just add a new wire,larger would be better if possible,and run it from the alternator,to the positive side of the battery,it will fix the problem.
