First you need to state clearly what the problem is here with the key. But the battery should be replaced on a regular basis and is the first thing that causes a problem.
your convertible latches either need to be tightened or replaced you can get them new from the dealer for like 15 dollars a piece. that's why my 03 eclipse spyder leaked.
changing the battery should not affect your conv. top ,the system runs on fluid pressure, have it checked at the dealership,2007 should still be under warranty-good luck
could be, unless your battery is dying. a nearly dead battery will make clicking noises while it is cranking. if you keep forcing it by turning the key from "run" to "crank" and it gets it to start it may be a dead spot on the starter.
