We have to turn the car off and take the key out of the ignition then push the unlock trunk button before it will open the trunk. Why won't it open while the car is in park and running?
That is a safety function that was done by Lexus.

you have to have a main key. you may be able to remove the panel and release that way. under dash. pull cable.

If you hear the sound of the electric latch switch, then it's working but stuck somehow. Just put the key in the switch and turn it to the right and then pull up the trunk or ask someone to help you. it will open. I tried it today and it opened with me. It was stuck from inside by some kind of a broken plastic pieces. Just removed it and now it's working fine. good luck

Maybe your on board computer is having a little bit of a hick up. Try disconnecting your negative battery cable for about 5 minutes and then reconnect it. This will totally reboot your computer. Hopefully this solves your problem. Best wishes and good luck.

Clean the carburetor and add a fuel cleaning additive to the tank. That should do it. Your alternator should be fine, but get that checked if the other suggestions don't work.
