If the engine will not crank, a mechanic would check for voltage at the starter, the neutral safety switch, and the key switch.
Is the security light on, or the anti-theft engaged ?

I tried jump starting a diesel engine with my petrol engine now my petrol engine wont turn over although the battery is good why ?

Some times the extra amperage coming from the alternator the diesel motor will burn out the electrical components of a smaller vehicle. This is why you should never jump start your lawnmowers, motorcycles, or any small engine with a full size vehicle. Check your battery, then alternator, and keep tracing it back until you find the source of the problem.

My 2005 suzuki aeiro wont start.battery is good . wont turn over

what transmission,?
this can be 3 things, if it wont jump and batter is good.
bad connections at battery or starter.
1: bad starter.
2: bad (A/T shift switch) or bad M/T clutch switch.
3 bad ignition switch.
4: bad wire or connections end to and start system.

hot wire the starter solenoid, if car starts (cranks) then its 2 o 3.

Car won't start. I tried to jump it with my other car and still wont work. It makes the electrical noise of trying but thats it. I suspect is the battery, eventough I change it last year. However, I'm

Hi Carmelogo, It would sure help to know more about your problem. First question is what car is it? Secondly when you say it makes electrical sound, what do you mean? Is the starter motor turning, and if so, is it tuning too slowly or just clicking? If it's any of the those I would suggest cleaning the battery terminals, especially if it fails when jumped. If the terminals are oxidized they will need to be removed from the battery and cleaned or maybe even replaced. If the vehicle then starts with a jump and later fails after taking it for a run replace the battery

My hyundai santa fey has just lost all electrics.Drove it fine to shop turned engine off. went to turn it back on nothing -no lights nothing from the battery even the key doesn`t work.tried jump start but...

i would start by checking the connections on the battery and having the battery tested, also why where you taking it to the shop?, if the connection are dirty a jump start wont work, they may look clean but loosen them and twist them on battery terminals to make good connection then tighten them ,and make sure battery is fully charged,

1998 ford contour start up, alternator? battery?

may i ask? when you jump start from doner car battery?? do you connect battery to battery with leads? reason for querie is the correct method is=connect leads to doner terminals on battery then on your car connect +LEAD TO YOUR BATTERY BUT THE NEGATIVE LEAD TO THE ENGINE ENSURE GOOD CONTACT ? if engine starts then ? you will have to check the earth lead from battery to engine connection it may be loose or deteriated ? doing the above test you are using doner battery power SO to check your cars battery ?and whether it is an earth connection fault? just connect 1xjump lead from your cars neg terminal on battery and the other end to the engine providing a good suplimentary earth to enable starter to function properly due to its high amps load needed if it works? check as explained above ? please update back on progress if any? good luck

WOnt run over - battery good - can turn it over but jumping the starter

if the battery is good and you jump the starter she should run otherwise you may have a sensor issue, try to get a hold of a code reader and see if any codes have popped up..
