As with any no start issue, you will have to figure out if you are loosing fuel to the injectors or spark to the plugs to proceed.
Common problems with Ford products is the ignition module and the fuel pump relay.

My 1987 Ford Bronco II won't start

First you always test things & never replace anything

When you understand how things work & how to test
them, then they have to fail a test in order to need replacing

I would think Fuel Pump--if it quite while driving
Put a gauge on the motor if you have a shrader
valve to do so

Seldom do you need to replace a dist
The parts inside can be diagnosed & replaced
if you can source them

Things like plugs, wires & such you leave until you
know if you have fuel pressure, spark & so on.

Once a vehicle gets to 20 years of age you start
checking for wire corrosion such as around fusible links

Never forget the battery & it's cables & the internal
corrosion possible there

Worn ignition switch a possible

You say won't start,so I assume the engine
does turn over?

Died and wont crank

If it died and won't crank, sounds like you lost power to something.
Does the warning lights come on when you turn the key on ?
Got headlights ?
A mechanic would check for voltage at the starter and work back from there.

Driving in 105 degree temp, truck quits! What happened?

If the engine won't crank with compression in the cylinders, either the head gasket has blown or something else major has happened.
You will have to get it towed to a shop.
If it cranks normally but won't start, you have to figure out if it is a fuel or ignition problem.
Did the temp gauge show it was overheating before it died ?

I have a problem with my 2004 impala 3.8 V6 I will drive down the road and it will randomly die and won't start back up. It will turn over and everything but won't start. But if you let it

Possibly a crankshaft position sensor had the same problem with one of my former vehicles. Be careful buying a new one though it is an electronic part and it is not returnable at most part stores. That is what it sounds like to me though.

My car began not starting right away and then finally would, now won't start at all. Died a couple of times while driving

Could be the cranking amps in the battery are under par. Needing new battery. Or the alternater is not working properly.

Car died at light, tried to start then clicking noise. car started on a jump. then replaced the battery & altenator. later on driving car again. car dies at light tried to start then clicking noise...

Did anybody bother to actually TEST the charging and starting system or are we just replacing parts? This whole thing COULD be caused by something as simple as a bad battery cable connection.

Died while driving down the highway then won't start? We were going about 70 and it just died. I will turn over but not start. Any help would be great.

My first thought, is the fuel pump quit

That is where you start, or a repair shop should start

I do not like going anywhere near 70 mph for that reason,
& I'am getting too old to enjoy speed & spend too
much time making love to vehicles, to put them under
any load at high speeds or uphills
