When i bought my 1999 jimmy slt from my aunt one month ago the odometer was busted and the light was out so i was not sure of the exact milage. A few weeks ago the odometer began to work as well as the trip and i figured out the exact milage of the car (118800). The trip and odometer worked fine for a few weeks and about a thousand miles. Just yesterday it went out again and im not sure why this has happened. HELP!
My guess would be a bad connection at the harness for the cluster, or a problem with the printed circuit board inside the cluster.

The problem is most likely 90% head gaskets but could be intake manifold gasket leaking too. Intake gasket has to be checked when intake is removed. Might find problem there if not continue and remove heads. Bars Leak will not work.

does it have spark? you did verify fuel pump working properly? could it have a clogged converter? is the engine lite on?

try the oil pressure switch, that was a common problem on Gm trucks when I used to work on them, the oils switch was bad and woulden't allow it to start and the ones I worked on were on the back of the distributor.

you may have a bad blower relay the relay box is right next to the battery normally. I suspect if the blower motor is bad I would not recommending getting this from a junk yard because the age of the vehicle. The one from the junk yard will probably go out soon also.
