The eighth digit in the VIN number - a code 4 is a 2.2 and a code T is a 2.4 engine.
The 2.2 is an overhead valve engine, the 2.4 is a double overhead cam engine.

G4GF X637863 Is a 2litre engine code.
G4GM X558969 is a 1.8litre engine code.

Are the counter-shaft and gears the same in a 2 wheel drive and 4x4 the same parts

no job stated, (are boxes apart?)
5speed box.

on mine , 5th gears are different ratio. OD 0.86 and 0.80
but is engine size differences not 2/4wd diffs.
the main counter shaft is totally different on 2wd, longer.
i have all p/n on both boxes.. so does suzuki.
my hands have even mixed gears. here.
if you count the teeth, you'd see in minutes
or are you shopping cases. (see how telling job first helps?)
1998 for sure has different gears, just 1.(but is engine size reasons, for OD 5th)

i dont have access to my database, im on vacation.
so can not look it up. (have full parts lists i do )

I have esteem car model 1999 my car is smooth running sudden engine stop , enging not start again and after 3 minutes engine will be start so what is the problem plz tell me

which of the 2 engines, 1.6L or 1.8l, (radically different)?????
engine stalls.
top cause, no service, a tuneups skipped, ever do the 60k tuneup?
per the operators guide?
if it dont start, for 3 mins.
its either
1: flooded (use WOT cranking to unflood any engine)
2: lost spark,. do the std, spark tests.
3: plugs fouled (tuneup?)
4: lost fueling.. no fueling at all and TEST FUEL (spraycan) works for 3min run and dies, sure lost fuel.

What engine will replace a 4.6 ford 1999 expediton

I can only tell you to watch earlier models for transmission bell housings patterns and that computer controlled shifts on 1999 models may not have full compatibility for other years. Some bell housings used 2 bolts for the starter and some used 3.

There were differences with exhaust manifolds which generally failed and restudding while the engine is accessible would be smart. This went on for a few years.

Later 4.6 and 5.4 engines used dual overhead cams and the 1999 was a single cam engine.

You should be aware also that because engine compartments are different sizes, exhaust manifolds can be shaped differently in Expeditions as well as Mustangs of the same year.

There are also differences in 4x4 exhaust routing versus 2 wheel drive.

Finally, as the exhaust system may be different, you may run into problems where the smaller pollution controls are hung in slightly different areas to fit the different vehicle you obtained the engine from.

Sorry I can not do more for you than to say the Dual cam engine will be incompatible

I just want to ask what size engine should the 1993 Ford F350 have in it.

It came with 5 different engines in two sizes. The 5.8 L & 7.5 L V8. There were 3 different 5.8 L V8's. Base with 185 hp, then with 200 hp, and the 230 hp version. The 7.5 L came in 2 sizes. 185 & 230 hp.
