I have a 2008 ford focus se and when I got off work the other day the vents will only blow through the defrost and the floor. But no dash vents work. How can I fix this? It's still cold air. Web I set it to defrost it blows defrost and when I set it to feet it blows feet. But when I set it to dash it blows both feet and defrost.

Under the dash there is a vacuum control that opens and closes the doors. Door could be stuck

  • Anonymous Jul 24, 2012

I looked underneath and looked at it as I switched between defrost floor and panel vents and it seems to be moving. How would I know for sure if it's stuck?

SOURCE: Heat wont blow through heater or defroster vents

The door in the heater box is most likely stuck. It is located under the dash on the passenger side

SOURCE: PROBLEM WHEN SELECTING THE DIRECTION FOR THE AIR

Sounds like you have a supply vacuum problem. When you lose supply vacuum to the control head it defaults to defrost.

SOURCE: Dash vents will not blow air. Defroster and floor vents blow fine.

Is it a new vehicle? I had a new vehicle that had the same problem. Answer was that the holes weren't punched out of the vent.

SOURCE: Jeep AC blows cold air at defrost and feet but not through vents

There is a flap that directs the air. the flap is controlled by a vacuum actuator. This is located inside the venting. The actuator is connected to little vacuum hoses that attach to the temperature control switch. Either the flap is stuck, or the actuator has gone bad.

2005 Ford Focus. Air is blowing out of the floor vents and defrost vents but not dash vents. Also the knob will not go onto the dash vent option it's like it just springs back up.

A failure has occurred in the HVAC system, legally, when a fault happens the hvac system will default to defrost/floor. Further diagnostics will be needed to determine issue.

Ford Escape Heater Vent Control

suspect a control panel issue as this HVAC (heater, ventilation, Air conditioning ) system should be all electric... If you can pull the control panel out looking at the back of it will answer your question... are the cables or just wires..

2008 jeep liberty vents not blowing out air?

I also have an 08 liberty, but my issue is that the heat won't blow out on the floor....the air vents and defrosters work great. You can hear it trying to switch over but doesn't. You need a new Air Flap Actuator (16-$30) The real issue is that you have to take offf the whole das in order to fix it. That is abouy 9 hours worth of work.

My 2009 Ford Focus dashboard vents will blow no air.

You likely have a defective vacuum motor.

2000 Ford Taurus SEL ac/heat blows through floor and defrost vents only

There is no vacuum to the controls. Look for a vacuum hose that is no longer connected to the engine intake manifold and repair it.
