Uneven idle I have a 2005 ford explorer sport trac that is idling rough about 40% of the time, and dies on occasion. Have had numerous people look at it and noone can tell me what's wrong.

I received an answer at the Ford dealership - there was an issue with the computer. It's fixed now & running great!

You need to check your plug wires for cracks and wear. The best way to know if they are bad is to run your engine at nightr and look for any time of blue arcing spark coming from any of the wires. I believe that replacing the wires will solve your problem.

SOURCE: my ford 2005 explorer sport trac the windows don't work.

You may want to check the relay that goes to the primary window. This will provide support to all the other windows. However, it may not just be the window relay, it could possibly be that between your window relay and your main switch there is a short or cut wire that is causing this problem. Unfortunately, you may need to visit your Ford Dealership to run a diagnostic on your wire or if you know an electronic shop that can run one to see if it is receiving and sending power. Have them check the main door fuse and window assembly to see that you are getting power.

If i were you your problem relates to a TSB Technical Service Bulletin issue with a no code situation regarding a hard start rough running drive ability problem once repaired by the dealer for free. This is replace and clean the intake manifold with seafoam cleaner the foam kind. also when you remove the IAC clean the port holes behind it as well and blow it out with an air hose. This should repair your driving issues. Please rate my solution and give testimonial this is how i get my achievements Thanks in advance

4.0 V6. Why does it have a rough idle?

This can be normal. A rough idle can be caused by numerous things. Usually a vacuum leak is most common. You may also be experiencing a misfire. Have you scanned for codes that may be stored to aid in this repair?

Idles rough aand checkengine light on, changed o2 sensor that was throwing the code and didnt fix

Well first, has the vehicle had a tune-up as of late? Second, if it has had a tune-up, then the possible culprit to rough idling is the Idle Air Control valve or IAC for short. Also, if your check engine light is still on, your still getting codes. What are the latest code(s)?

Engine cuts of at low speeds

Ford has a history of problems with their IACV. Idle air control valve. When these go bad, the idle is usually uneven and the engine will die because it is not opening and allowing enough bypass "idle" air around the throttle plate to sustain the engine for idle. A word of caution, If you decide to buy one, don't get the cheap Autozone ones. they don't hold up long. Go for the Ford brand. I would however have someone check it before you spend the money, it may be something completely different.
