The trunk release does not work within the car. It will only open when the car is off, using the intelligent key remote or the button at the back of the vehicle.
We finally flipped the glove compartment trunk switch (found on the left side inside the glove compartment) to 'on' then the trunk switch by the driver seat worked. We could not tell the trunk switch in the glove compartment was an on/off switch, we just kept searching and finding,

(1) Interior does not dim, nor come on (respective to the lights) at ... I've tried replacing my front turn signals and corner lights back to stock, but that did nothing. .... My clear corners dont work same as my running lights in the rear and the map lights. .... If the fuse was bad, wouldn't they just not light up at all?

on the left side of the steering wheel. if you reach bellow in plain sight. there should be a few control switches. if i remember correctly there is there. there is one that says VTC. and to the left of the button. there is a switch. that is the trunk popper switch. slide the button down and it will open the trunk.
The wires that go from the body to the trunk lid are broken, the wires are located inside the rubber boot that connects between trunk and the car. very common problem.
IF you pop your truck remove the plastic insert that hold in the trunks carpet on the right side you see a little box that has a push pull button on it. This controls your release for your fuel tank door. PLay with it you will figure it out....
