Hard to say.
Under normal conditions, vent temp should be about 20 or 25 degrees less than outside air temp.
So if outside air temp is 90 degrees and the engine is at idle speed, vent temp would be around 65 or 70. On the road the vent temp could be less than 60 degrees.
If outside air temp is 70 degrees vent temp will be around 40 - 50.

When I start the car after fifteen minutes of driving temperature gauge indicate that coolant reach maximun temperature and cooling fan starts to run and coolant temp still at max.

Max as in overheating or not, it shouldn't cool down afterwards, it should stay at a steady temperature as long as it is where it's supposed to be. This is not a problem.

I have a 1995 Ford Contour SE, 2.5L. I have two questions - 1. The cooling fans are not currently working and 2. The in dash temperature gauge is at max temp, even when the engine is cold. Is there an...

Answer to second question: It appears that that the wire to the coolant Temp Sensor has developed e short to the chassis somewhere which is giving the Max reading on the guage. Check the wiring in the engine bay around the Thermostat area for chafing or if the wire to the sensor has become disconnected and is touching the engine. The cooling fans normally are turned on by another sensor either near the temp sensor or on the radiator. Check the wiring around those places as well.

1995 chev tahoe...AC quit working. fan would

There is a resistor panel that controls the fan speeds behind the glove box on the dash. You remove the glove box and you will see the airbox. Sitting down in the left top, with 2 screws holding it in, will be the resistor panel. It consists of 4 springs and a resistor. All out of veiw, inside the airbox. Remove the 2 screws and unplug the plug. Pull out the old resistor and replace with the new one. It only cost around $15-20 bucks at the local auto part store. This will get your fan blowing. If your fan is blowing but the air is not cold, I would suggest to check and see if the compressor clutch is working properly. If not, try giving it a light tap while running. If it is working, you may want to recharge your freon.

Until you locate the source of problem cut off the flow of coolant to heater radiator. If there is an electrically controlled valve that feeds the core, that could be the issue with it stuck in the open position.

What the normal temperature operating range indicated on the temp gauge?

195 degrees is the typical high end on the thermostat (when the thermostat opens), so the temp gauge should read a max of 195 degrees, give or take a few degrees. Some people replace their thermostat with a lower temp one, such as a 180 degree one. Then the gauge will read lower (approx 180 degree max). So the range is typically from cold at start to just under 200 degrees.

1995 chev. cavallier dosn't push out heat, only cold air

Hello;
EVen with the temps as they have been you should be able to get to "operating temperature". Yes the thermostat is probably stuck open. Follow the top radiator hose to the water neck on the engine. There you will find 2 bolts holding the water neck in place. With the engine off and cold, release the radiator cap slowly. Then take the two bolts out. Remove the hose out of the way and there you will find a poppet thermostst. Pull it up and replace it with the new one. ( I always test my new ones in a pot of boiling water to ensure they work properly) Clean the mating surfaces, andf reinstall in the reverse order.
Hope this helps you and rate me highly please.
Thanks;

Where is the coolant temp sensor located on a 1995 chev monte car

Im not sure what motor you have, but the best way, usually, to find the coolant sensor is to trace out the upper radiator hose to the thermostat housing. Once you find this, look around for a two or possibly three wire electrical connector in close proximity to the thermostat housing.

If you can clarify which motor your have I may be able to find something more specific.
