I have a2005 Town and Country Van. I have a small round red flashing light in the upper right corner of the guage/speedometer panel. I just drove through standing water. And my car will not turn over. Also the radio and guages are staying on even though the key is turned off and pulled out of the ignition. Any suggestions as to what the problem is

SOURCE: Ignition will not turn

we had the same issue with ours a few weeks back, i was prepared to remove the key assembly. i started disassembling the steering column and removed all the trim, and while removing all the trim and the lighted key ring from the switch, i noticed a small pin on the side of the keysitch housing, if you put your key inot the switch and try to turn it, this pin moves in and out as the key is turned, ours wouldnt budge, or was stuck. i pressed it a few times with a small screwdriver, and sprayed it with some trusty wd40, and walla. it now works fine. would probably tak you about half hour to fix if you wanted to try what i did, if not then you may need to call a locksmith. i hope this helps, although you may have a different problem than we did.

SOURCE: 2001 Town & Country ignition switch locked

you need to call a locksmith to come to your home. They will replace one or more of the tumblers/cylinders inside the ignition key area. The EXACT same thing happened to me. The Chrysler dealership wanted to charge me over $400 to fix the problem. My wonderful mobile locksmith knew exactly what was srong the nanosecond I mentions the make and model! $49.00 later - FIXED! good luck!

Speedometer and Tachometer not working- no check engine light .

Had this problem on my Town & Country Van. I found online to remove the IOD fuse for a few seconds to reset the system. It worked for me. Guages & lights went crazy when I turned it on, but everything went to working properly.

I have a 2006 town & county lx and the check engine light came on and the transmission was stuck in second gear. Took it to the shop and they replaced all the wires to the main wiring harness and...

I hate to say it, but if that wasn't a Chrysler dealer that you took it to originally, or an experienced Chrysler Mechanic, they may have done more harm than good. If it was a Chrysler dealer, take it back, and give them one more chance to make it right. If they don't rectify it, call Chrysler owner relations. If it was not, take a copy of your work-order from other place with you, to a dealer and ask for a proper diagnosis, and if they have any idea if previous work done, was the cause of it all, or any.

Needle on the speedomer has goon all of the way around and is pegged up against the pin

I had this same thing occur in my 2001 Town & Country, it always happens when I have to do any electrical work that requires unhooking the battery. Once the van restarts, the needle swings around backwards, but there is a small retaining nub that keeps it from making a full revolution. In my 2001 this is easily fixed, you just pop off the dashplate around the upper half of the steering column, and then there are four bolts holding the clear plastic instrument panel cover in place. Once you remove those, you just pull off the speedometer needle, then replace it on the other side of the retaining nub. Be careful when touching the little nub however, it is rubbery and quite delicate. Hope this works for your 2002!
