ABS braking My 1999 F150 ext cab 4x4 5.4 with 4 disc brakes has a spongy brake with a clicking feel in the brake pedal--the ABS goes light off and on--I have had all 4 pads replaced--the front rotors turned and replaced the 2 front calipers and bled brakes and still have a really bad spongy brake with that clicking or vibrating feel in the pedal---do you have any ideas? Thank you Dale

Have you check? the master cylinder. sometine when you get the rotors cut they dont come out right because they may be warped or to thin. if you did the job yourself you might have put the calipers in on the wrong side. this happens alot . if your rotors front and rear are fine then switch the calipers to the other side.

2006 Ford f150 xlt supercrew abs light comes on and off periodically mostly when I'm on rough roads, hit a bump or braking at high speeds brakes pulsate ( brake chatter) or feel Spongy at times

high speed and heavy braking will produce a pulsation in the pedal
that is the abs working properly and the pulsations are the brake release and reapplying
intermittent abs light indicates a wire or wheel sensor problem at one of the wheels

Brakes not working right

Air is getting into the system hence the spongy feel to the pedal. The problem may lie with the brake assist system - have it checked professionally - brakes matter!

I bought a 1999 oldsmobile silhouette replaced brake pads and bled brake system . the brakes are still spongie abs light still comes on once in awhile..

If the brakes are spongy you will have to bleed the brakes again. It sounds like there is still air in them.
If you are doing it manualy make sure that the pedal is held down until the bleed screw is tight.
There is a brake bleeding kit that can be bought, this makes the job a lot easier.

Just replaced rear pads now it feels like i have air in the line, the pedal goes about 3/4 of the way down. i used a tool to turn the caliper piston in until it seated then put the pads on. now the abs...

that is how you contract the caliper on the Audi/VW rear brakes. I would check the brake fluid, I would also recheck the back brake lines as it is/was a bear to replace the rear brake pads. Hope this helped Tim

Brakes feel spongy.when pressed hard goes nearly to floor.if pedal released slightly and pressed again feels normal.this is a 1997 toyota caldina GGT with abs.have bled brakes and sgimmed discs.any ideas?

Either you did not bleed the brakes properly or they need adjusted. (rear only) Front most likely are disks. If you put pads on the front and spread the caliper pistons, you should pump the brake pedal 10 or 15 times to move the pistons out. Some ABS systems are notoriously hard to bleed.

In the pumpkin of the rear end there is an abs sensor. This might be bad or loose wiring at this point due to out in the open.
