abs abd brake lights are always on. autozone don't know, they won't hook up to mine to even look. they tell me to go to dealer.

Mine have been on for months now. Meineke hooked it up and said it's what's called a "hub sensor", that is connected to the tires. My odometer also has quit working. And now, on another complaint page on this site, I noted that my electrical went crazy, and it is dead with no clue how to fix it.

When the check engine light comes on means its a sensor could be going bad,,, to find out what it is you can go to autozone they will check it for free and tell you whats wrong..... same with the ABS will tell you which whell sensor or other part is bad..... hope this helps

What to do with a brake booster out and the ABS light came on? 1998 Isuzu Trooper

Hi Rebecca,
Since the AntiLock Braking System utilizes the power (vacuum) boost to operate normally, the ABS indicator should come on if the booster fails. Yes, this means your ABS system is not able to function correctly, but neither are your standard brakes (as the extra pedal effort required to stop will tell you). however, your brakes DO WORK, so driving it to get the codes scanned shouldn't be too dangerous - just be ready to stand on the brake pedal with both feet and leave yourself plenty of room to stop by driving slowly and looking well ahead for stopped traffic. Once your booster is fixed, the ABS light should go off without any special reset or clearing of ECM memory. Good luck and happy motoring!

Abs light stays on and brake light on 98 durango

The regular brake warning light is for the parking brake being applied or the brake fluid is low. You would need to get the abs system scanned for trouble codes to proceed.

How do you fix the abs brakes in a 98 dodge durango?

Firast you need to have the ABS control module scanned for the fault code that is set when the light is on, then work from that fault code.

02 Dodge Durango-rattling valves, abs & brake light off and on

Check vacuum lines in area of master cylinder as well as fluid level. As far as valves rattling, are referring to engine knock upon acceleration? Have knock sensor checked and/or replaced.

Brakes on 98 durango

I think you have a master cylinder issue. This has nothing to do with your brakes at the wheel. My suggestion would be to have it diagnosed at a chrysler dodge dealership and pay the diagnostic fee to be sure. They will hook up a device called a DRB III and can tell you in a few minutes what exactly the problem is. You are not obligated to service the vehicle there but you will know exactly the problem is. Then you have something to work with when you get prices for the fix. You definetly have a failure somewhere or your pedal would have remained where it has been in the past. If you feel this information has been helpful please leave me good feedback. If I can be of further assistance please email me at [email protected] and I will forward you what information I have. If you require a good mechanic I would be glad to find you one free of charge.

1999 Dodge Durango. Brake Light and the ABS Light

If you backup lights are not working as well, I would say check the fuse for the backup lights, if the fuse is good, see if you are getting power to that fuse. We had this problem and after weeks of searching and changing sensors, we found the backup light fuse was good, but not getting power. Ran a wire from that fuse to the cig. lighter fuse and all woprksf great.
