How much for a rebuilt or new 1996 hyundai Accent Engine?

I have had my car for almost 8.5 years. It is burning oil and it makes a ticking sound when it runs. No visible exhaust and recently I went over the 3000 mile oil change and my oil light flickered. When I checked the oil, it didn't even register on the dip stick. It's been burning oil for about 3 yrs now and it has 184k miles. Is it fixible? There is no oil leak under the car. Otherwise it runs great, always starts never been stranded.

This is a social web site, like facebook,so no prices

The only way to get a price is to have the motor
at an engine shop & apart, for quote or guess
at the cost of necessary repairs or a compete
already rebuilt engine replacement

Testimonial: "Thanks, wasn't sure what to do. Car still runs great though, so we shall see. "

    I'm sorry,but burning oil for 3 days or 3 years & you
    know the answer
The engine has internal damage & has to come out

I think the cause can be a poor grounding connection in engine
that cause the (Oil,battery, door and hand brake lights all go on)
and no check engine light because of the (ECU) not work good
depending of no power in it because the poor ground ??

send more details after test to have more help

SOURCE: Loss of Engine oil

The car either has to be leaking oil, or burning it out the exhaust. You should check to see if there is oil on the bottom of the engine. If clean, it can be burning oil cause rings or shot, emisssion system sucking it back through the engine, etc. Your engine should be in good condition since only 55K miles, unless it got overheated or something. Hope this is a place for you to start, Rick

SOURCE: 2001 Hyundai Accent. Heating and stalls

YOUR WATER PUMP GASKET IS LEAKING.ITS NOT SEALING.IF YOU DID USE GASKET SEALANT ON WATER PUMP GASKET IT WILL LEAK.ALSO YOU NEED TO PUT HALF ANTIFREEZE AND HALF WATER.BECAUSE WATER WILL BOIL OR EVAPORATE.WHEN ENGINE TEMP GET ABOVE 212.YOU NEED ANTIFREEZE TO RAISE THE BOILING POINT.SO YOUR ENGINE WILL NOT OVER HEAT.EVERY TIME ENGINE OVER HEAT IT DAMAGING THE TRANSMISSION.I WOULD FIX IT.QUICKLY.CHECK TO SEE IF WATER PUMP LEAKING.YOU MIGHT HAVE TO REMOVE AND REPLACE THE GASKET AGAIN.

Let it break in,Some engine rebuilders use diffarent tolerances.Just keep it to the full line and when you change the oil the first time check it for anything out of the ordinary. You may want to try a differant oil all together. What oil is in it now? What weight/brand of oil?

I have had the transmission rebuilt in my 2002 Hyundai Accent GL only 8 weeks ago and I have gotten the codes P0734 and P1529 now. So does that mean my mechanic did not do his job?

Code 0734 : Gear 4 Incorrect Ratio. you may wanna take back to the Mechanic and tell him whats going on and let him deal with that. Good luck

Oil pressure light stays on and engine is ticking loud. Pwr low

yes there is a oil pump in your engine you need to change the oil every 3000 miles or three months this will keep your engine clean but as far as help go all i can tell is that you need to take your car to a good shop and have them check out the inside of the engine so may have a serious problem.

The valve stem oil seals sound like theyre worn and oil is getting past the vlaves and been burnt in the combustion chamber, once the valve stem oil seals are replaced it should cure your problem as with only 57k kms the piston rings shouldnt be worn yet.

Engine oil change - Quantity

Its 3 1/2 Quarts, but you might as well put a full 4 quarts in if it goes through that much. make sure you change the filter aswell! dirty oil will not cause your engine to go through it any faster. Is the oil leaking or is the engine burning it?
