I need an engine diagram of a 2002 ford sport trac so i can figure out where the high and low end air conditioning lines are, or someone to tell me.

Its a 4.0 L sohc it also had 2 wd, 4x4 high and 4x4 low. the only lines i can see are right next to each other on the drivers side by the radiator and they have a green cap and a black cap on them....., but if those are the right ones the universal recharge kits dont fit on the low end therefore i cant recharge my air conditioning unit.

SOURCE: 2003 f150 lariat air conditioning recharge

the place you need is closest to the condensor..that will be the low side.do not try to add freon to the high side as it will blow the lines. the low side is by the condensor the closest cap to it

just adding to kimberlator, low side with blue cap has a smaller connection for your hoses to connect to . hi side is larger.

Engine cuts of at low speeds

Ford has a history of problems with their IACV. Idle air control valve. When these go bad, the idle is usually uneven and the engine will die because it is not opening and allowing enough bypass "idle" air around the throttle plate to sustain the engine for idle. A word of caution, If you decide to buy one, don't get the cheap Autozone ones. they don't hold up long. Go for the Ford brand. I would however have someone check it before you spend the money, it may be something completely different.

Ford 2001 sport trac determining the high and low pressure taps

I am guessing you are talking about air conditioning ports?, if so, word of thumb, the port on the large diameter hose is low side and the smaller diameter is the high side or pressure side.

I have a 2007 Ford Sports Trac I only had it for about 3 yrs the air condition in it is blowing hot air what could be it problem

I see your vehicle is a 2007. You may still have WARRANTY depending on service date and mileage. It may be low on Freon. Look under the hood when the engine is running and observe if the Compressor clutch is engaging.

You should hear some clicks and the front part of the compressor beyond the belt should be turning with the engine. If the compressor clutch is not turning you need to test the pressure and if low add Freon.

There are 2 pressure sensors, a low and a high and the ideal pressure is midway between them. This usually is the total amount recommended per the car refill decal sticker. The fill point is either on the oblong black tank or close to it on a hose.

You need to check for leaks. It is a closed system. There is an opening that let out the old Freon. Some of the Freon cans have a leak tracer. Some have a sealer. If you only have to add Freon every 3 years its not so bad. But it could leak the new Freon in 3 days. You just don't know till you try.

There are Freon cans with the fill hose already on them. You may be able to get a loaner set of Manifold gauges from Autozone or Oreillys for a deposit. They also have the Vacuum pumps to condition the system. Good Luck with your repair.
