There is a water leak somewhere in my 98 toyota camry that leaks into my passenger side floor. There is no sun roof and no visible leaks from the windows or doors. Any thoughts? A/C leak maybe? Hi, I have a similar problem. My leak is on the drivers side though. It started after getting a new heater core. I thought a faulty installation was the problem but took if back and a compression check on the heater system shows no leakage anywhere. I am at a loss to know who to take the car too as two mechanics so far have been unable to help me.

Start by cleaning the junk out of the sun roof drains. Don't poke anything down, use a vacuum.

there is a leak because the foam has disintegrated, or the seal has broken open down by where the feet of the passenger is. Rust stains tell me that the leak may be caused by a break in the body somewhere.

Try spraying expanding foam in the area between the plastic and the metal parts to try to seal out moisture from coming into the passenger compartment.

Roof drains may seem clear,but are the drain hoses,actually on the roof window frame.
Remove the head liner to be sure

Why can't the dealer use a dye type test or smoke tester. The smoke doesn't just have to be used for EVAP, that it was designed for. And you wonder why I do all my own work?

have the rubber seal around your windshield check by a wind shild installer base on what you explain the sel at that corner is leaking and the water is leaking back into the vehicle

The air coming in due to the elastic band which seal ,which prevent the air noise to come in.It is leaking somewhere,now what you have to do is to test where it is leaking,close the sun roof ,pour water on the sun roof see where it is leaking,The elastic is not fix well,see for it or u must see if the elastic have not been broken some where ...hope that help you and fix the problem

sounds like it may be a heater core check your radiator fluid to see if its full and see if the water inside is water or antifreeze if it is antifreeze its a heater core.

Hi, we also have a 2002 Toyota Rav4 and developed a leak in the front driver's side of the car. After much research, we discovered that the drain wells from our sun/moon roof were clogged. If you have one of these, I suggest that you open the sun roof and look carefully. You will notice some tiny little holes in front and in the rear of the sun/moon roof tracks. Over time, these become clogged with dust and debris. You need to find a long, sturdy piece of thin wire and run it down the holes. To test if you have properly unclogged these, take a small amount of water and pour it down the holes. You should see water coming out of the drain wells under the car around the rear of the front tires. Hope this helps.

I am the original owner of camry xle 1998 with wet floors. In 2000 I had drivers side door seal leaking at welt. Removed old door seal and new weather strip on drivers side installed. The door panel was never wet, but wet at bottom of door where there are drain holes...slowly leaking under carpet.
In 2001 later water again. Coming from overflowing A/C evaporator-drain plugged/ tank full of debris. Removed evaporator, cleaned + drain cleaned.
In 2003, driver door seal against window rotted. Removed door panel and found leak at window belt molding at the mirror joint inside + out. Lots of mold under carpet needed to replace! Made a fuss at dealers for reacurring problem and they replaced the carpet for free.

Check the A/C condensate drain tube, which is under the glove box, towards the center console, going thru the firewall. If it is plugged, the water in the A/C box will have no place to go & leak onto the floor. This is a common issue, and running the A/C on the "fresh" mode compounds this problem. When the A/C is on, the water removed from the interior is supposed to drain out thru the firewall onto the street.

check the sunroof drains,they may be clogged they are located on the right and left front of the sunroof.
