Sluggish when pressing gas pedal

When the truck is in nuetral and I press the gas pedal it hesitates. idles perfect. changed the throttle positioning sensor and it didn't make a difference. When I put it in drive and press the gas pedal it hesitates. It is worse with the air cond. on. The warmer the truck gets the worse it runs and will even stall at low speed.

My guess is a compression problem - which could be caused by something simple and cheap to fix or as serious as a new head gasket.

SOURCE: running rich and stalls.

Sounds like it is most likely a sensor in your intake system, either mass airflow, air temperature, or map sensor. Autozone and Advance both pull the codes on your truck for free. I have a 93 Eclipse that did the same thing with a hole in the intake tube, so check that too. Hope this helps :)

We need to know more about what car and engine you have, but the primary suspect is that the timing belt has slipped and things are out of time.

SOURCE: I changed the throttle body

I would check the idle control valve. First make sure it is plugged in all the way. Sometimes they look plugged in but push on the plug just to be sure. If it is in all the way it might be bad. Some can be taken out and cleaned with carb and choke cleaner or brake and part cleaner but others have to be replaced. The idle control valve is right next to the Throttle Position Sensor. Hope that helps. Good Luck!

Ats 2.5 start good runs good until i hit traffic try to press the gas pedal light sometime it will buck but if i press the gas pedal hard it respond good

Sounds like it may be a lean fuel issue . Although a bad spot in the throttle position sensor can cause a hesitation . Bad plugs, contaminated oxygen sensors and restricted injectors among other things can cause problems .

Change air filter and TPS (throttle position sensor). It is subject to Physical wear. (1992, Age). A dirty air filter can put the MAF sensor out of range.

I have a 95 mercury mystique and it starts but but

THE ENGINES THROTTLE BODY HAS A TPS WICH IS CALLED A THROTTLE POSITIONING SENSOR

It has a built in reostat inside of it which can get a flat spot anywhere in its circuit explaining why your car hesitates or sounds like it is ready to stall out
'
I would replace it and have the voltage set at 1.5 volts when set at the idle position
Then it should run fine again

Perfect Idle, no Codes, but stepping on gas causes hesitation

i would try cleaning mass air sensor, its mounted in air duct between air filter and throttle body, they sell the cleaner at auto parts stores, also as stated bofore make sure the intake pipe clamps are tight and it's not cracked, if that doen't fix it i would investigate a fuel pressure problem either a weak pump or problem with regulator

Hard to start, sluggish, does not have immediate power/response when pressing gas pedal.

Could be either of those. But being intermittent, it could also be a wire from your car's computer system.
