I need a diagram of the firing order for a 2000 dodge durango V8 5.9 liter engine. I have replaced the wires incorrectly.

See the link. A 318 is a 5.2 is the same for all years.

Firing order for dodge durango 1998 5 2 liter

I was surprised to find Dodge still using a distributor on this engine.
The firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 and the cylinders on the driver side are 1-3-5-7.

This is the way to wire the engine. The top is the firing order, and the other numbers are your plug locations.
1 is the first cylinder on the driver side toward the front. Odd's on the drivers side rolling back then evens on the passenger side front rolling back to the cab.

check your firing order and how the engine rotates and distributor

Firing Orders NOTE: To avoid confusion, remove and tag the spark plug wires one at a time, for replacement.
If a distributor is not keyed for installation with only one orientation, it could have been removed and installed improperly and then rewired. The new wiring arrangement would maintain the correct firing order, but could change the relative placement of the plug towers in relation to the engine. For this reason it is imperative that you label all wires before disconnecting any of them. Also, before removal, compare the current wiring with the accompanying illustrations. If the current wiring does not match, make notes of the current plug wire locations and orientation of the distributor cap.
3.9L Engine

5.9L Engine Firing order: 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2

There were three different engines for that vehicle in 1996, here are diagrams of the 3.9 liter V-6 engine, and the 5.2 and the 5.9 liter V-8 engines both have the same firing order.
