1995 isuzu pickup wont start sometimes

Here's my "fix". I drilled a hole in the air filter box above the paper filter & ran hard plastic tube out the front of the grille/truck & put a rubber cork/stopper in it. In the morning, I remove rubber stopper, blast Starter Fluid into tube for 2 full seconds. Starts right up & runs fine until I go to start it 8 hours later. It needs a BLAST of starter fluid to start it when cold. What are the "cold start" components of this 1995 Isuzu 2.3L OBD-1 engine? Here's my "fix". As stated in my initial comment.... I replaced the fuel pump (twice) ($50), fuel filter ($20),FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR($105) & put 2 in-line check valves ($10) in fuel line from pump to fuel rail.". Brand new FP regulator & all the pressures check 100% with & w/o vacuum line plugged into it. As stated in my initial comment....
