look for trouble code pcm, for transmission problem it's normal when there is a code affecting trans . in default mode pcm command high pressure not to burn it . could command no tcc or 4th gear

That intermittent rough shift would be caused by the computer.Disconnect the ground post from battery for a couple of days so the computer will reset back to OEM specs when recharged after the battery is re-connected.Computers just need time to "forget"what they were doing and will reset.
I usually don't work on the transmissions, but when a Torque converter stays in the lock-up mode I understand that you get rough shifts. The lock-up mode is often advertised as a "gear" but when a Torque converter goes into that mode, there is no slippage and it is considered directly connected to the pumps inside the trans.
This would result in over pressurization of the trans fluid. You might be able to have an external pressure check done in a trans shop. Sometimes the Torque converter has an electric lock-up and they can diagnose this.
Sounds like you need the updated engine computer for harsh shifting. Look up under the glove box at the computer. Number should be 89661-02K21 if not, you need the update. It is an 8/80 warranty item.
