What is the towing capacity of a dodge ramm 1500 5.9 lt v8?

5.9 liter v8 engine automatic transmission

some are equiped with a e36 chasis but common its going to be 1600 pounds but the car sits a little low

SOURCE: 1998 dodge ram 1500 v85.2 towing capacity?

according to the owners amnual the max towing weight for a 1999 ram 1500 quad cab wit automatic transmission is 7600 lb.
with either 5.2 or 5.9 v8. for a reg cab it is 8000 lb.

From the information that i have been able to gather your maximum towing capacity is 85-8900lbs. You should always check your owners manual or with the manufacturer for towing capacities.

these go bad alot. your sun shell is probaly cracked. get a rebuilt trans and install your self to savre $$$ or have a shop do it for you $1600 or so.

You didn't state what size engine you have.
The 2.2 engine----- 6.9 qts.
The 2.3 engine-----7.4 qts.
The 2.4 is 7.4 qts.
The 3.1 is 7.4 qts.
The 3.4 is 6.9 qts.
These are the capacities for refilling after being drained.

Automatic depends on why it's being added. If bone dry try 8 quarts and check. Always check warm in no gear, if you can't be carefullllll not to over fill. Atf +4 is what dodge automatic. take
