Okay I understand that you did an awesome brake job on the vehicle but there's a lot of steps to technicians take that normal people don't even think about when you do that type of work so you just have to make sure that there's no air in the system cuz if you have air in your braking system and the air is trying to compress with that brake fluid it's not going to be pretty you need to follow the breaking sequence and I would definitely make sure that there's no air in all the work that I did because you never mentioned anything about bleeding the system it's a necessity

SOURCE: Engine light and ABS traction control light remain

The ABS sensor is a speed sensor also for Traction Control. This is why both lights are on , One of your front ABS sensors are bad or disconnected, or has a pinched wire.

Abs light, traction control light

after replacing pads and shoes, refill brake fluid level,,,,,and,,,pull the rubber pad on the inside of filler cap to its full expanded state,,,,, then put on brake cap... it turns off abs, traction control, because it keeps the fluid from sloshing .

1999 Olds Silhouette -- Problem - ABS & Brake Traction light "coming on" on the instrament panel. Brake fluid level "full". Brake pads & shoes "new". No brake fluid is getting to the REAR brakes....

The ABS light is on because there is a fault in the abs system, The traction control uses the abs system so it will also not work if the abs is not working. You'll need to scan the ABS module to see what code is stored in its memory. Once you have the code you'll have a better idea of what needs to be repaired.

ABS and Traction Control Light On

Because the brakes were changed, either one of the sensors were broken when removing brakes or it has set a code. Go to your local autoparts store and have them reset the code. See if it comes back on. If it does you will need to look at the ABS sensors on each wheel and replace if damaged

Lincoln ls year 2000 v8 3.9litres

ABS and traction control really are only for panic stops and if your tires slip on wet surface's and yes each tire has a sensor on it. However if the brake light comes on this has nothing to do with the ABS or traction control lights. It's not a parking brake light. This light tells you, you have a serious brake problem.
