CD PLAYER NOT WORKING IN 2005 EQUINOX

Could it be a blown fuse?

I have a 2005 Chevy Equinox LT and am having the same issue that you are having. Took it to the dealer and the say it is the Equalizer, which is located under the right passenger seat . First they quoted me 650.00 to replace then said they could do it for 200.00 cheaper. Oh by the way, have you ever had a sunroof leak because I have had 5 before they fixed it and this can corrode the wiring. But apparently my dealership does not think so. Hope this helps. :(

This is yet another problem that can be traced back to faulty PCM in equinox.

I have same issue. I stopped using it and just use MP3 or satellite radio.

Unfortunately, 99.9% of the time this means you need to replace your radio/cd player unit. The mechanism that ejects it is probably broken. It happened to my 2005 Equinox and both repair places I called suggested replacement.

You will need to have the radio reset or checked out at the dealer.Ther could be a cd stuck in it.Or the radio/CD player may have be on when the battery power got to low.

Check your owners manual and original paperwork for the code to your radio.

Find the radio fuse (not sure exactly where it is located - possibly beneath the hood) - pull it out and leave it out for about 10 seconds - this should fix it sometimes the cd player on these goes into an electronic lock up mode. If this doesn't work it is a motor problem inside the radio.

Unless you have the code you have to go to the dealer to get it reset

Try and remove the radio fuse for 30 seconds to cycle power to the unit and then try to remove them. Some of these units have a software issue and a reset can clear it.
