Do you have a check engine light on? If not try this. Buy a can of Mass Airflow sensor (MAF) cleaner (about $6) from the auto parts store and clean the MAF inside, it is located in the air intake hose to the engine. It would also be a good idea to have the fuel pressure checked and to have a scan test done on the electronic engine control computer. Also replace the engine air filter.

OK, it sounds like the battery is dead flat, or just dead. First thing to check is the voltage on the battery - if it is 12 to 13v it might just need recharging, but if it is a lot less it could be due for replacement.
You should be able to get it running by getting it jump started using cables from another car. When you get the engine running again check that no interior lights stay on after you close the door, and that no audio systems or other electrical items have been left on.

If the battery is more than three years old, it is probably just worn out, but if it is a lot newer, come back with more info and I will try to help you further.

I take it you have a "real" key to get you inside so you can open the hood / bonnet?

Hope this helps a bit to start with. D.

SOURCE: emergency latch for gas cap 2000 VW Beetle, where is it?

From the manual:

  • Open the rear lid.
  • Open the cover on the backside of the luggage compartment. To open the cover, turn the two "quick-releases" and fold the cover down.
  • Reach through the opening by the fuel filler flap. Grab the cable with th plastic covering and pull down. The filler flap will open by itself.
Best of luck!

SOURCE: something draining battery on 2000 VW Beetle Turbo

If you are sure you have a key off battery drain, what you need to do is connect an ammeter to the negative side of the battery(disconnect the negative battery cable and connect one side of the ammeter to the battery terminal and one side to the and one side to the battery cable) note the reading and start pulling fuses one at a time making sure to put them back in their proper slot when the reading an the ammeter goes down to normal the short will be on the circuit of the fuse you have pulled if any part of these instructions is too difficult have the problem checked by a dealer

2000 VW Beetle: When accelerating or decelerating it pulls very hard to the left, while coasting, it seems to be fine and drives in a strait line. What could this be?

Verify tire pressures, and tires with the same amount of time on the ground. Rotate front to back, diagnostically. Also, a brake failing to release can cause a similar symptom.

How do I fix my epc on my 2002 vw beetle?

There's several things it could be...MAF sensor, brake switch, throttle body, faulty wiring, ECM or accelerator pedal. Any one of these can cause it. Need more detail on the problem.

What type of brake fluid should be used in a 2000 vw beetle

Valvoline DOT 3 & 4 brake fluid. VW's past the 1996 Model year use DOT 4, so your safest bet is the Valvoline combination.

Where is the starter located on a 2000 vw beetle

If your VW is a streight shift you can see it pretty good with the drivers side front wheel off. It looks like you could take the battery and battery housing out and get to it pretty good from the top. Good luck.
