Trying to wire in a after market pioneer stereo into my 1995 f150 4wd have looked at color code schematics but from the speaker plug harness colors do not match have started pulling left door panel

They sell a installation kit so you dont have to cut any wires. You unplug the factory unit install the proper plug into the new unit and factory harness and your done.

sounds the like the vehicle had an oem amplifier that was removed, most after market stereo installers will trace the speakers wires individually by continuity to by pass the factory amplifier and wire the new head unit to the vehicles speakers, if the harness has been spliced or factory amp removed, you will need to check if the amplifier still exists (usually under passenger rear seat sometimes located in trunk area) and see if the harness has been bypassed. if so you will have to reconnect the harness by color code in order to use the factory head unit

I had my head unit put in by a audio shop and when i got my car (1993 Saab 9000 CSE Turbo) back my rear speakers dint work so i took the head unit out(because the shop would not fix it or refund me and i...

If the rear speakers worked before your new head unit was installed, then the first question is does your new head unit have the facility to feed four speakers. Some systems will only power two speakers. The Audio Shop should have rectified the fault - you paid for the installation and as the customer you have a reasonable expectation that they would do it properly and ensure that all of the existing speakers were functioning properly. It would be worth challenging them again - if they refuse you could go to Citizen's Advice Bureaux or the nearest Trading Standards Office. Alternatively, try tracing the wires back from the rear speakers to the head unit - are the wires connected up properly... at both ends (i.e., the speaker end and the head unit).

The audio shop has probably hard wired the head unit because the sockets in the back of the head unit were not compatible with the plugs that came as standard with the car. A Haynes Manual or equivalent will give the colour codes for the various wires for the audio system.

Im puttin a new head unit with a different wire harness, i know what all the wires are on that wire harness, but with the 92 accord stereo wire harness i need to know which wires are speaker, remote, power...

You can buy a cheap harness from the local parts store for your Honda made specifically to put in aftermarket head units. Since you know the pin outs on your head unit, you can wire it up quickly uning this harness and it will plug directly into the factory Honda harness. Go to Scosche dot com part lookup for your number - I think the wiring schematic is on the outside of the package, too.

I a '83 camry, there are 2 seperate plugs that go into a factory radio.
One for Power/and front speakers, and the other for rear speakers.

Sounds as if you are missing part of the harness for the rear speakers (or it is shoved in the back of the dash unused by the previous install). If there is not an un-cut plug in the dash - your only course of action would be to run your own set of speaker wire to the rear.

See this picture... these are the plugs that should go into your factory radio....

Metra kit 71-1938 will go from your factory wiring directly into your factory radio.

97 dakota installed radio harness have power no sound

If you still haven't fixed this, look at your wiring harness. The blue wire that comes off your factory harness is the external amp in the Infinity stereo. I found this out when I hooked my Pioneer head unit up. Coming off the aftermarket stereo should be a blue wire that says remote. Hook those up and you should be good to go.

In many cars the factory speakers are powered by an external amplifier. If this is your case you must get power to the amplifier or run new speaker wires from the head unit to the speakers. Running new wires is easier.

Stereo Upgrade in 1997 Sentra

hi there. I am not sure about the speakers. But there is a wiring harness available for a aftermarket head unit. I have a '97 sentra the base model XE version. I have just put in an alpine head unit and you defenately hear the difference even on factory speakers. But you will need 2 kits to install an aftermarket head unit in the car. 1. A dash kit. I got mine from canadian tire for about 20 bucks, it comes with instructions on how to put it together and its straight forward, just make sure u get the one for your year and make of car.

2. The wiring harness. there available at mostly every car audio place for about 10 bucks. again make sure u get the one for your year make and model of car. installing this is difficult so unless your good at electronics get it professionally installed. you have to splice the wires into the back of the aftermarket unit, then the plugs plug right into your existing factory car harness.

hope this solves your problem, the dash kit is easy to put together and install into the car, but the wiring harness is a bit difficult, i had my harness installed for about 40 bucks and u save money if u put the dash kit togehter yourself because thats 1 less thing they have to do. good luck.
