Tested signal at injector with noid light there was signal tesetd 5 volt reference to optispark found 5 volt reference tested grounds all seem to be good has power to coil and ICM there is spark coming out of the coil wire going into the optispark but nothing coming to the spark plugs already replaced the optispark, the crank sensor, fuel pressure is 45 psi any ideas would be helpful thanks
This engine uses a special flat cap and a standard rotor, right ? The spark comes into the cap and thru the rotor, then to the spark plugs.
Have you replaced the rotor ?
The spark can jump thru the rotor and ground thru the dist. shaft.
Depending on where you are testing for spark, the coil could also be weak and not pushing the spark to the plugs.
Don't know when you posted your comment - I still need to know if you replaced the rotor under the cap.
Love the suggested answers - - they almost never have any connection to the actual question.
Well the problem just about has to be in the rotor or cap. As long as you are getting spark from the coil the rest of the system is working. The only other thing I can think of is if the dist is just off-time enough to be firing between points, but that is pretty rare. The coil must fire at the exact point where the rotor is lined up with one of the plug wire towers.

overheating could be caused by a stuck thermostat or a clogged radiator not firing on #1 plug could be a fouled plug or bad wire or it may be grounding on the block and your coiil may not have been put in at the right mark

it sounds like you may have the wires on the wrong coil. It should be #1 on the #4 coil, and the #3 wire on the #2 coil. you probably have them backwards so 1 and 3 are firing on the exhaust stroke.
the firing order is 1-3-4-2.
they should be hooked like this.

I would be thinking that there is a good chance that you need to be checking out replacing the computer, if you aren't getting any communication with the proper scan tool then the computer isn't communicating with anything in the vehicle...... I would have guessed first off that the ignition control module might be bad but that is obviously part of the computer also, I would be looking in that direction.
SOURCE: crank won't start, no spark at any spark plug
Might want to take a look at the camshaft position sensor. Shouldn't run much over $20
SOURCE: 96 jeep grand cherokee no start. Has no spark,
Check the distributor ignition pickup coil in the distributor.

when you pull the coil wire off the coil and crank the engine theres spark but no spark out of the optispark replaced the optispark unit twice was going to try a new coil or a icm they test ok and because spark is coming out of the coil they are working or id have no spark from the coil ive checked all the basics compression, fuel, injector pulse, grounds and power all seem to be good was leaning toward a computer
yes i replaced the rotor and the cap
The problem was a weak coil and fouled spark plugs
