It should have two relays that control power to the engine/ecm and the fuel pump. One of them probably failed.

SOURCE: truck dies when i stop or slow down

Here is the most common cause of surges and stalls and low idle rough idle, it is the idle speed control air-bypass valve and throttle valve (IAC for short), they get full of gunk over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

SOURCE: 92 dodge 318 truck engine runs til you stop, then stalls when put

Then i think i'd be dumping some soapy water on the intake gaskets checking for leaks. ANd wiggle the **** out of all vacuum hoses. ( you probably did that) And if there aren't any, your cam could be tired. You got a tough one there. Hard to figure with a keyboard.

SOURCE: 1995 dodge intrepid 3.3L cranks

The injectors are mainly controlled by the good output of an auto shut-down relay which is directly affected by the fuel pump relay straight from the PCM.The easiest way to check the fuel pump relay is turn on the key, wait a minute, and see if the fuel guage comes up to proper level, helps if you know fairly close how much gas you do have.A couple other things which could cause intermittent cranking are the ignition switch may be going bad,or a bad connection in the ignition wire harness but the ignition itself is way more common. Also a near dead battery. The lights will sometimes appear somewhat bright but to start requires lots and lots of power.A good battery should read near 13V.A bad one will read around 11.8,11.9V and could cause intermittent crank.A crank position sensor could cause it,but for the most part,if a sensor is bad the system either works or it does not. That's about all except do you have intermittent start or no start whatsoever, even jumpers? If this doesn't work or you need more help, just comment here and I will get an autolink to your post and reply ASAP.Good luck! On 1987 dodge Dakota will crank sender misfire if oil is on end of sensor

there is no ckp only CMP cam sensor inside the distributor.
no engine told on this truck (USA)?2.2l or 3.9L????????

OK 2 engine but OLD SKOOL Distributors,
and have cam sensor ONLY in the base of this DIZZy
and no computers, so no CKP cranks sensor, none are sold
so is this name game/?sure, it is the cam pickup sensor.
zero computers 1987
I guess you meant , you off'd the dizzy cap and rotor and dist cap
and gandered at the CMP cam sensors there ,aka, pickup coil
and is oil soaked. , most times due to PCV valve clogged up long long ago and oil pushed up that long shaft, or the bearings in that shaft are shot, so new dizzy time.? if PCV is clean and sucks air.

2003 dodge Dakota 4.7l. High mileage. OBDII throwing a new code everytime I fix something. Crank sensor & Cam sensor - replaced. IAC-replaced. PCM-replaced. Throttle body cleaned. O2...

Have you checked the wiring that goes to both the Crank and Cam sensors? Most of the time the wires are close to a heat source (ie: exhaust manifold) and the plastic covering starts to melt causing the cooper on wires to make contact and thus making engine stop, you will have to take off the protective covering as well as tape around the wires and inspect each and every one. Had same problem with Dodge caravan, it turns out the Crank Sensor plug wires were melted together. Good Luck.

I have a 1998 dodge dokota pickup 3.9 liter engine that want start can somone help me?

reset the computer ... by disconnecting the battery competely (positive AND negative) AND LEAVE IT DISCONNECT FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES. Then turn everything OFF in the vehicle (AC, Radio, etc....) reconnect Negative terminal first then positive. Don't crank it yet!! Turn the key to on position and leave it there for 1 minute..then off for 1 minute... Do that 3 times. No crank it up. If still no fire you need and ignition module.. get a refund on the cam sensor..they rarely are the problem.. (even though the diagnostics seem to point a finger at them quite regularly).... One last thing DON'T GO PAYING FOR A NEW MODULE...Call a scrap yard and they each probably have a room full of them.. cost you say $20-$40. Hope this info helps!

Have a 91 dokota 5.2 has no spark i changed the coil and the pickup in the dist do you know where the crank sensor is located

The crank sensor is on the front of the engine it triggers off the front crank pulley. The pickup you changed is the Camshaft position sensor and will cause hard starting but not a complete no start. A picture of the Crankshaft position sensor is below.

I have a 2006 dodge magnum 5.7L HEMI AWD. I was drving and all the sudden the car shut off without warning (the oil light came on as it died) and i had no power or steering etc. The car would not start...

I really question what kind of mechanic "fixes" 17 codes without getting the car running. You need to find a more competent mechanic. You have not provided nearly enough detail for anyone to advise replacing a crank sensor and/or cam sensor as a possible fix.

Cam timing

usually when that code comes on after a belt change its because the cam or crank gear moved during tensioning, the cam and crank sensors are not in sync
