I was having trouble getting fm stations on my radio, the am worked fine. and the cd player would not work. So I decided to pull the wiring harness and I noticed that where the wire harness connected to the car there were 7 wires where the insulation was damaged. I repaired them and put everything back together, the radio works now but the power windows do not work except for the drivers window and the power door locks do not work, the only thing I did was to take apart the black wires and I think that I forgot how to put them back together. Any responses, please help, I am really sick of this car. I am always fixing something on it. Thank You
Ok, so judging by what you wrote, there were 7 or so "burnt" looking or damaged wires in the connector behind the radio. These wires are usually color coded with all kinds of strange colors with either white or yellow lines running through some of them...I've looked around and can't find any diagrams yet...I'll keep looking ...In the meantime, go check the fuses to see if any are blown in the car. It's not usual that messing with the stereo would cause the locks not to work. let me know what you find.
1st you will need the Ford electrical guide to ID the wire colors. You can buy one here used.
