Lightning bolt light comes on followed by chk eng light then truck shuts off. Turn ignition off and start truck. Lightning bolt light goes off but chk engine light stays on. Unhook battery and let it sit to reset computer and all lights go off. No codes in active or inactive. No codes in history. Met another guy with same make and model and year with same problem.
Take throttle body off, clean Throttle Body with Carburator cleaner. I had same problem and its the ethynol in fuel that creates a build up in the throttle body which creates this problem. I did what a friend of mine said to do (service manager at Dodge Dealership) it hasnt happened again.
Easy once you clean throttle body and brandon just so you know no fuel reaches throttle body . but back to answer once clean turn iginitin to on without starting and wait till all lights are off if throttle body light on push and hold down accel pedal till off that just reset your thottlebody and your good
Replaced #2 bank censor . After 100miles light gos on . Light goes off within few miles. Back on again . Bad gas miles . @ times on start up motor shuts off . Please help. ! Is it possible that censor not good?? Wrong censor replacement ??

I have a 2004 Dodge Hemi 1500 Quad cab doing the same thing. Lightning rod comes on with the check engine light. Do I need to first try and detach the battery or just replace it?

I have the same problem (2003), Mine happened at 60 mi per hr. the truck went into limp home mode. This happened in nothern Manitoba. I limped 20 miles to a gas station. Did a restart and the TB light went out. I put in gas line anti-freeze and continued the 16 hr journey home. ( It was -37 F) The eng light went off the next time I shut down to fill with gas.
Problem : I can,t get into a shop and I don,t like to remove plastic and O rings is this cold (all you do is break things) Can I just buy a TB cleaner and spray it onto the TB? Thanks: Jim.
I have this problem on my 08, I bought a scanner and got a code for the crankshaft position sensor, P305, I think, I talked to a marine mechanic and they have been alot of problems with this sensor in the boats, any hard bumps kick the sensor out, then it's replacement time. Mine was cracked and loose, the truck has only 20000 k on it, and it has started to act up again. The dealer told me they couldn't find the problem, why I bought a scan tool. Great service eh?
I was traveling about 30mph when my lightning bolt light came on. Within about 5 seconds, the truck shut off. Now l can't get it started to take it somewhere to have it checked out. I took the throttle body off and cleaned it and even tried a new battery.
