1986 ford bronco 302 AOD - How do I know if it shifts into OD?

I drive it on the highway back and forth to work, and the RPMs stay at about 2500 at 65MPH.  I would think this a little high for OD.  How can I tell if it is shifting into OD?
it's got 31x10.50 tires on it, don't know if that's standard, but the speedo is relatively accurate.

No. AOD trans from 1985 is hydraulic shift. You need to hook up the Throttle valve cable from the drivers side of the trans to the carb. Is this hooked up.
