Lost power to ac/heat control.

All was working fine then all of a sudden the power went out. All lights on ac/heat control went out and AC quit. Everything else works fine, meaning door lock, windows. Just no AC or Defrost etc... What should I be looking for besides fuses, as they are fine.

SOURCE: fan quit on 87 celebrity, heat ac, etc.. fuse ok ????

Hi
Check for bad connection at heater resistor or try tapping heater motor lightly
with ignition switch on and heater switch on. Could be heater switch connection.

SOURCE: 2005 colorado pulled fuse for power locks, to stop

This is a common problem, there is either a pinched wire in the harness that is in the door jam or your fuse block is shot, there is a gm service bulletin out on this, I would call your local dealership to find out if it is covered.

SOURCE: door locks and power window

Just did this procedure I got from coloradofans.com forums:

"any type of power/voltage change seems to trigger this issue

The most common symptom is power locks fail and only the driver window quits, however that is on the extended cab.

Steps to fix and it works every time.

take door panel off driver's door
Disconnect the wiring attached to window and power lock control unit
disconnect battery cables
connect the negative to the positive cable(((NO BATTERY CONNECTED)))
This will act to short residual voltage in the system

5 minutes later
place the key in the ignition and turn to the run position
connect the wiring to the window/lock controller
connect the negative cable to the battery
then the positive
open drivers side door
turn key to the off position((do not remove yet)) you should get a series of dings through speakers telling you the key is still in the ignition
once it begins dinging pull the key out and you should hear the door lock solenoids trigger and the windows should work." - Coloradofans.com forums

Sounds more like a lose connection in a wiring harness . Just replacing parts isn't the way to fix it . Taking your vehicle to a qualified repair shop that has a professional scan tool an checking for DTC's - diagnostic trouble codes , an viewing data inputs to the different control modules is the way . You probably don't know about serial data networks an how they work ? All the gauge info comes from the engine computer over data bus. When you see -------- this the info got lost or the ECM/PCM can't send the info.

Power windows, radio, instrument panel, heat and ac fan, and automatic seat belts all quit working at same time. Any ideas on what went wrong?

While it is difficult to be sure, it sounds like the power cable to the interior fuse box has lost connection. It could be either the hot or the negative connection.

its a 15 watt fuse in the kick panel under the dash. go to the auto repair store and buy a fuse kit so you can can always have spare fuses on hand. it also has a tester in it. my screen went blank as well and I, like you wasnt able to control the heat or air til I changes this fuse. I hope it works for you. best of luck!!!!!!!!
