My nissan maxima 2001 a33 model starts fine but it wont keep the revs up unless u accelarate, revs down and dies but starts every time

    Once u accelarate for a min or two it is fine, there are no engine lights on or anything on the dash

    Changed both tps and maf sensors but no change still the same when you start it without revving it will start and die unless u accelarate to min for 1or2 min and then it is fine to drive. Also i noticed when revving the engine there is a noise like it is sucking air or something like that but checked the hoses and they look fine

    Also changed the crank sensor still the same.

    I am starting to think it could be the IAC valve but i have no engine light on?

The P0335 refers to the electrical circuit and not necessarily the sensor. Please see this article for full details - P0335.

Did you find the prolbem? Im having the exact same problem you have. Mine is doing it after it died and I replaced the starter but now it wont start and the fuse eng cont 1 keeps getting burned out instantly

A33 revs 2001
my book shows all Nissan engines as obd 2 compliant. Have some with a code reader who knows which pins to connect toread it . Next thing is to talk to a Nissan service centre as earlier models may have had a series of light flashes to read the codes.

Nissan Maxima 2000 Year model A33 3 Litre 55000KM Sometimes when starting hot or cold, engine runs rough as though miss fireing on 1 or 2 cylinders, after a few revs it settles to normal. Also...
most likley a ignition coil is failing, is unfortunatly common for the A33 maxima. these engine have 6 coils, one for each cylinder. the only way to work out which of the 6 is the faulty one is to remove the little cover over the front bank of spark plugs, has 4 allen key bolts, then you can see the front 3 coils and the rear 3 are inbetween the manifold pipes. each coil wiring will have a button/leaver on the connectors (i think they are green) and if you push this in will release connector.
when the engine is missfireing unplug one coil at a time then reconnect after. if the engine runs worse that coil is working. if you unplug 1 that makes no change, that is the the one thats not working. replace the coil and the spark plug.
do not worrry, there is only 12volts at these connectors, not spark plug voltage

2001 Nissan Maxima Engine will start but won't rev up. If you push on the accelerator it will die. It does not really idle up to correct speed either.
I had that problem with my 02 Maxima and it was my mass airflow sensor. Not a cheap fix, about $550.00 from dealer or about $350.00 from auto parts store if they have one remanufactured.

Automatic 330i 2001, if i start accelarating at 3rd gear the RPM keep increaing and if i release the gas the car should change to next gear but i does not...at low RPMs it is working fine
the gearbox is a "fuzzy logic"system.gearchange depends on accelerator pedal position/revs/load.if you drive without depressing the gas peddle more than a third down you should find all gearchanges much smoother.(if you drive with gas peddle almost hard down all the time yhe car will hold gears longer...poss 4500 revs or more......

When to change timing belt on 1996 nissan maxima
Maximas had a timig belt until 1994. Some Maximas from 1992-1994 had chains also, but only the VE30DE models. All VG30 models had timing belt. Since 1995 all maximas (A32, A33, A34 the all new A35) have timing chains and the rarely/never fail. In fact in my 12+ years with nissan, I have't seen/replaced single timing chain in a Maxima, so pretty bullet proof setup and I have had few of those cars and have one right now. Awesome cars, by the way, just keep up with the oil changes and it will run forever. One of my Maximas had 245000 miles, when I was selling it and I still see it on the road here and there. BULLET PROOF engines.
